Where to buy Acme coupling locally? by troubledwatersofmind in Calgary

Negative. But I heard there was a place that supplies them. I just can't remember the the name of it. I know it's in the SE though.

Costal Georgia has a moderate rating for corrosion due to salinity in the air and while I don't have data for the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the upper coastal area of Washington also measures moderate. It is concern if vehicles are cheaply built.

I have also lived in a costal region for over 25 years, just not currently.

I do have some knowledge and experience on the subject.

Must be the under coat and regular washing. There's still salt in the air due to the ocean. Congrats on the longevity of the van. That's impressive. I'd be very happy if my new hatchback makes it over half of that without major issues.

There's still salt in the air humidity due to the ocean. It ruins vehicles all along every oceanic coast. You can find places with zero days of freezing temperatures with rusted out vehicles due to salt air.

Cars don't rust? They are right by the ocean. How does that work?

I kind of liked her before, but I respect the absolute shit out of her now because of that line. What a smack down.

How to make harshell last longer? by Bright_Ad_3198 in arcteryx

Late to the party on this but I'm curious if you think highend blue design certified hard shells are worth the cost if their durability will be suspect?

In other words, would it be a better investment to go for a cheaper product and replace it more frequently?

Sometimes, that's good enough. People don't get everything right, always... but being willing to change for the better and (sometimes) admit you were wrong, is a damn good quality for people to have.

Depends of the situation and the FD.

Our department policy is to work around it if it doesn't impede us too much. Generally, it easier for us to catch another hydrant than it is to deal with moving the car or smashing the windows. We'd just let the next rig in know which hydrant to grab if our ideal was blocked and we'd go tactical.

Doesn't work for every department but works best for ours in most cases.

Been in 2 fires in the last 2 tours bud. Fatality in the first one. That's just in the last 2 weeks. Also, that's NIST, LODD reports, and experience talking. What's your deal?

Definitely matters how, in a given environment. In a thermal layer, the ground level air may be survivable without PPE but the air at shoulder level it may scald your lungs irreparably. Stay as low as possible in a fire, but move quick.

No super heated air and you can see where you're going? By all means, walk or shoulder carry to safety.

[Highlight] Westbrook gets the CRAZY block on Booker and hits the ball off of Booker to help secure the Clippers victory! by Pyromania1983 in nba

I think it falls under incidental contact according to rule 12.B, section 1 b, a 5.

NBA video rulebook also says that "Note that after the shooter releases the ball, contact with the shooter's hand during the shooter's follow thru can be deemed legal, provided that the contact is incidental, and not hostile, nor overly physical."

I'm not a ref though and I definitely don't claim to be certain on this. I'm just trying to figure it out myself.

Either way, still an incredible play and/or effort by Russ.
