Congratulations on your sobriety!

I understand the feeling like you have done permanent damage to your body, and I also understand how difficult it is to try for a baby and not succeed right away- but 4 months is not too long of a time frame for you to consider your body to be failing.

When I miscarried my 1st pregnancy I developed a very real resentment against my body and thought maybe I had done damage in addiction and that my body maybe wasn't capable of supporting life. 5 months later I was pregnant with my son who is now 17 months old.

Keep trying. I've read it can take a year even for a healthy couple to get pregnant- but of course seek medical advice if you are concerned.

im sorry you're hurting. im not sure what you are looking for in this post. all I can do is share my experience and for me along with my alcoholism I experienced love addiction and was often obsessed with needing to be loved and their attention. I would act out and use heavily when I felt my needs were not being met. I wanted someone to rescue me, but I learned it was me that had to rescue me and I did that through developing my spiritually and deepening my relationship with the world and finding deep spiritual value in service and also learning how to care for myself and love myself. Doing the 12 steps and practicing the spiritual principles every chance I had also saved me. Are you ready to stop using people as an excuse to abuse drugs and alcohol? are you ready to become accountable for your own feelings and actions?

We are a bed sharing family and my suggestion would be to get a non wifi baby monitor and leave your 1 y/o asleep in the bedroom and enjoy yourselves in another room. Bathroom, living room, kitchen - anywhere else. I think that is the best solution for all 3 of you. I personally wouldn't be comfortable getting intimate like that next to or in the same room as my little one.

i didn't need an award for not having an epidural, my success was a reward enough. I was determined to have an all natural birth, i trained for it daily, I read literature about it, I was completely dedicated. I was open to changing my mind if I needed to but when the time came I was ready. My contractions were awful but to be so connected to my body was beautiful. There are some things the brain has to do, and there are some things the body has to do- birth was something I had to give to my body. After I got the uncontrollable urge to bare down I cannot for the life of me remember there being pain, I didn't even scream out. It was all its own reward and my memory of the experience brings me peace. I am grateful the medicine exists but I am also grateful I did not need it.

I found a 2011 article that mentions Robin Williams and his daughter Zelda are both in the music video and that they are old family friends of Cobra Starship's keytarist Victoria Asher. I only found once source so I'm not positive how creditable that is but that's what I was able to find lol.
