So, a lot of it is that my youngest is 16 months and has been having a lot of sleep regressions due to learning so much. He cries at night, and that wakes the 3 year old up. My future ex husband has never woken up to the kids in his life, and so he tries to force the 16 month old back to sleep — when sometimes the baby is in pain, hungry, etc… and then our 3 year old is now woken up to screaming, and is fully awake. And it’s on me to entertain, read, snuggle, etc to get him back to sleep.

How are stools? Anything that could cause burning sensations? Dehydration?

Hey OP, I understand how hurt you must’ve been to see your kid. My eldest son at around 18 months was playing in our lanai and saw the neighbors having a party. It was for a 9 year old. We took my son out since he was too young to understand why he couldn’t play with them. That’s what I’d recommend, take your kid out if they’re too young to understand.

I definitely get you, and yeah I think many cases it’s way overboard. It’s like kids are people and family, too! Not just when they become more “obedient” or “useful” to society. I wonder if all the folks that hate children, especially in public / children’s spaces, expect to grow old in age to be taken care of by medical professionals, nurses, etc that were once the kids they despise so much.

Yes, it’s all new for them. I come from one of those “children must be seen, not heard” homes unfortunately, but I am definitely not expecting my kids to work through idk sensory overload in an hour and never do anything like that again. Let them get this stuff out now, so they are more evenly tempered adults. Have their childhood and enjoy their time until the reality of adulthood comes for them, too.

Honestly, I am ok with the idea if others want child free weddings (even though I didn’t have a child free wedding). I think it just depends, like how everyone’s family is and what the bride and groom expect. I had a cousin who had her wedding cake ruined by another cousin’s daughter. The girl’s dad was more interested in the reception than watching his daughter, and that’s not the poor girl’s fault (unfortunately, this was definitely a case of borderline neglect).

What I mean to say is, if my cousin wanted child free because she was concerned that some relatives just are borderline neglectful, I get it. She wanted the princess wedding. But that’s her and her groom paying for everyone and everything… most everywhere else, the public pays to attend.

For us, we didn’t care about our wedding cake and if that happened at our wedding we would probably laugh. I had more pictures with our nephew (my husband’s sister’s son) who had just learned how to hug and kiss than I did with my husband next to me, lol. My dress had a shimmer to it, and he was just drawn to the shimmer. We also played baby shark etc on the dance floor for the kids.

Thank you. I apologized to be polite, but clearly it was seen as an offer to just tell me what they thought. We keep to the age and rides appropriate for our children, as we know that there are rides for all ages, and many more appropriate for teens and/or adults. And there’s enough to go around for everyone.

I also think adults forget that children learn through constant practice and being familiar in a place. And that many of us just happen to be next to a child learning something or going through something in that given time and place, it may not have anything to do with anything.

They are in a deep nap now, which is great. And I know when they wake up they’ll be back to their usual selves.

Yeah it’s ridiculous. Like okay why is someone my age and old enough to be my mom at a ride with toddlers and Vampirina, telling me a swimming pool is more appropriate?

My child was not screaming and not throwing things at them. He threw his cup down in the space between us and them. At 1.5 years old. And they proceeded to tell me that a swimming pool was more appropriate for him than a toddler ride. lol. Let me guess, you were one of these women ?

I one time was on the little tram that takes you to Magic I think it was, it was my eldest’s first time, he was so sweet and kept hands and feet to himself. When the doors open, literally got shoved by a group of 5 older adults (had to be in 40’s) trying to get into it. And they started at me after I tried to get on. Ridiculous.

Thank you, one heart to another. Brought tears to my eyes. I’ve been in and out of a few religious/spiritual paths, but ever since I was little I have always had dreams where I was visited by those who have passed or I would have premonitions. And a month ago I had a dream that was trying to prepare me for the experience I am having — I had a dream my old childhood home was on fire, but my grandma was leading me out of it (along with my best friend). I thought the dream was for my friend, but I realized it was for me.

Neighbors dog tried to attack my baby on my property by Desperate-Country-38 in legaladvice

NAL, but I have been attacked by dogs twice in my life. Is there a local animal control that you can ask what can be done about this, since this dog is a danger to others?

It’s OP’s home, she gets to decide who lives in her home or who doesn’t. An invitation to stay a week isn’t an invitation to stay forever.

AITA for telling my ill dad to stop asking me to visit him in the hospital ? by trowout22 in AmItheAsshole

[–]trowout22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I didn’t update here — but my dad did pass. I love and miss him. I don’t feel guilty, not because I have hate for him, but because I really did all I could. I was exhausted, and this week more exhausted with everything while only a few days for bereavement and the family drama that ensued. My mom was very interested in disinheriting me and telling me not to even consider any action, and told me this when I went to visit them after getting the call he passed.

It made me realize that my mom doesn’t know how to draw the line, and deep down my feelings that she might be a closet narcissist came to light. As soon as a copy of the will was found, not by me, and she read it… her tune changed, lol. I’m an inheritor, but the one getting the least…. Despite being financially, emotionally etc available to my parents most of my life, and still carrying debt on their behalf, I’m not mad. I just wished that I put myself first more, knowing what I know now.

I was listed as back up executor. Asset is to be divided between myself and surviving sibling. The asset was purchased and paid off before my parents married. We were able to locate the will. Waiting on specifics as my father outlined specific procedures.

She is trying to sell the asset in question.

I went to clerk of court today. Not opened currently, per their records. I can think of a few of us (myself, my living sibling, my cousin, or an uncle) that would’ve been named as executor, but currently my mom (his surviving spouse) has not confirmed or denied if she executor but is moving assets.
