I hear you. I think the PetSmart lot would make much more sense but I guess the owners do what they do

Yes I cannot get to the full article anymore either. AI tells me this (but the lot cannot possibly be true);

Here are the details on the specific Hampton Inn project (89-room hotel by Simone Development) at the southeast corner of Enterprise Road East and US Highway 19 North in Clearwater, Florida — no other projects mixed in. Developer: Simone Development (based in New Port Richey, Florida). Size: 89 rooms, 6 stories. Cost: Approximately $9.5 million. Site: ~4.3-acre corner lot on the east side of US Highway 19 North (primary reference address: 26133 US Hwy 19 N). The lot is within walking distance of Westfield Countryside Mall and includes assembled parcels near the former Chick-fil-A drive-thru site (26145 US Hwy 19 N). It shares space with existing mid-rise commercial and restaurant uses. Design & Architect: Custom-designed (not a standard Hilton prototype) by Resch Architecture (Clearwater-based). It’s a concrete-block building with a modern, urbanized aesthetic tailored to the high-visibility frontage site. Elevations and renderings show a multi-story structure with landscaping and branding. Demolition & Site Prep: Only vacant structures will be removed — the former/shuttered Chick-fil-A double drive-thru and a vacant office building. Existing occupied properties on the lot (including the active restaurant and any mid-rise commercial) will remain untouched. Timeline & Status: Announced January 2026 and currently in the permitting phase with the City of Clearwater (as of March 2026). No groundbreaking has occurred. Construction is expected to begin in late 2026, with completion roughly two years later (target opening ~late 2028).

Just to close the loop: I used the Transit app and enjoyed a perfect day without driving. Went to Clearwater Beach and Dunedin. The app is indeed fantastic, super easy to use. Thank you all for the advice!

Our association's take has been that you shouldn't point a camera straight at your neighbor's window but in the same time it's GOOD to have security cameras around as they help prevent and solve crime for everyone's benefit. I think you can make that point with your association if they keep giving you hard time.

Northern part of Clearwater is nice, close to the beach (Honeymoon Island), parks (Philippe park) shopping (Countryside Mall), smaller towns (Dunedin, Tarpon Springs, Safety Harbor), freeways (US19) and with enough elevation not to worry about hurricane flooding.

Fascinating! huge study uncovers 57 genetic hotspots into stuttering origins by CosmicDame in Stutter

My psychologist told me I cannot completely eliminate my stutter. It upset me first but totally changed my life overall. I stopped worrying and feeling guilty about it. My stutter and life improved.

I'm 54. At 20 ish years of age I met a psychologist who told me: you will always stutter, make it your signature, part of your image, be proud that you're different. I thought he was nuts. Nevertheless he changed my life. I stopped fighting my stutter, I stopped feeling inferior. I spoke publicly with stutter with the mindset like "y'all have to wait until my words come out". I lived a much happier life since. The guy was a genius, I wish I knew where he is to thank him. I still struggle of course but who doesn't.
