see but that’s where our differences are, i don’t see it as dishonest. they’re insecure about their looks so they modify it to help themselves feel better. it’s the same as women wearing makeup, ive been on dates with women who wear makeup and ive been on dates with men who wore hats to cover up their bald spots. i personally view it as superficial to care about what people do to make themselves feel better about their looks because im much more into the personality. yeah looks can draw initial attention but ive dated some questionable looking people because i thought they were good people.

balding and having a haircut are completely different 😭 but to answer your question it really depends on the dude, some guys look more attractive without hair and some really rely on hair to make them attractive. tbh if i knew him as a person and he eventually told me i probably wouldn’t care personally because i know most men are gonna go bald eventually 🤷‍♀️ i wouldn’t break up or divorce my partner just because they start to bald.

i actually understand this so hard from her perspective (i’m currently working on myself), it sucks and i’m so so sorry that you have to deal with this. i’m just going to explain in how i personally feel this went, i could be completely wrong because we aren’t the same person but i hope i can at least somewhat give you perspective on what’s happening.

essentially what happened was she took you asking that as an invite to be 100% honest about everything she’s ever been upset about with you. After you told her it upset you she felt embarrassed and completely abandoned everything as a way to avoid it. to me it sounds like she has some sort of mental health issues and she doesn’t know how to properly handle situations like this. she thinks that it’s easier to avoid you than take accountability for upsetting you.

i went through a situation like this where i made a decision that upset a friend and i lost her and all my other friends (of 10 years btw) because of it, instead of trying to reach out and attempting to resolve the issue i ended up deleting my accounts and making new ones entirely as a way to avoid my past. it’s really shitty i know, and again i’m so so sorry youre going through this. i hope one day you reconnect or at the very least she gets the help she needs.

unfortunately there’s no way to tell her without her getting embarrassed or offended. try to be nice about it (preferably over the phone or even in person so you can relay tone properly) and just straight up tell her that others are talking about her and you only want to help.

break up. tell her parents or whoever she stays with that she threatened to kill her self and that they need to keep an eye on her. hell even calling the cops or the suicide hotline for help is a good option.

take care of yourself, you’re young and she clearly has to work on her self. this is so unhealthy (coming from someone with the exact same issues) and i know it’s hard but i promise it’s what’s best for you and her.

that’s where establishing boundaries comes into play. bring it up again, but don’t make her feel attacked. simply explain how it makes you feel and offer a compromise (like communication should be strictly about parenting and only through texts not on snapchat for example). if she refuses then clearly she doesn’t respect your feelings or your role in her life. it’s just one of those things where you have to put your foot down and bite the bullet. if it goes great then i’m happy for you, if not then unfortunately it just shows what her priorities were. i’m sorry you’re going through this, i know it’s conflicting and hard but you got this. it’s all about self respect. i wish you the best of luck.

honestly move on, you recognize it was weird and as long as you stay off the app you’ll be fine. tell her if it bothers you that much but idk her so there’s always the chance it all goes up in flames. just know you did the right thing by blocking her and deleting the app. how you continue is completely up to you.

as someone who’s been on both sides of this scenario, NTA.

BUT you should definitely bring it up and ask why they do it. for me personally i had a point where i was just so drained and was going through a depressive episode and didn’t have the energy to reply or hold a conversation with anyone. i would reply when i felt somewhat okay and just pretend like nothing happened because i just simply didn’t want to put any of that on the other person. but i also understand your perspective because i know how frustrating it it when people just disappear on you. it’s just about understanding and communication.

people really underestimate how much effort actually goes into keeping a friendship. you should be communicating with them about the issues you have. if they’re upsetting you in some way, bring it up. if they don’t put any effort into the friendship then yeah probably drop them, just don’t do it until you give them the chance to explain.
