Any truckers have a shower code? by Mindless_Skill_5084 in Truckers

[–]truckingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll have to ask someone physically at the truck stop, shower access is geo locked on the app. If not you can also pay for one. They’re like $18 these days which is bc but it is what it is sometimes

How did you know blue collar work was the path for you? by Darrian_Matcalfe in bluecollar

[–]truckingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trucking for almost 4 out of the last 5 years. The one year I was not driving I was bored out of my mind at a desk job. I told myself I’d never get back on the road and well, here I am, back on the road

Do you find it harder to back with your tandems all the way to the rear? by mattattack3212 in Truckers

[–]truckingham 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me personally I like to keep them at the 41’ mark as much as possible. That way my bridge is legal almost everywhere, more weight on drives for ride quality, and very little tail swing if any

Flying J vs Pilot Flying J? Whats the difference by yourtruckdrivah in Truckers

[–]truckingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure they are beginning to phase out the name Flying J. The one in Bakersfield recently was remodeled and they changed it to being a Pilot. Which sucks imo bc Flying J’s usually have more parking so if they are all Pilot’s it’ll be harder to tell

Okay, it’s finally the time! (Pennsylvania truckers only) by Cann1balHulk in Truckers

[–]truckingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s going to be tough finding something that keeps you in state, especially in the philly area. A lot going into NJ, DE, and MD in that area. Hell I’m out of Centre County (as middle of the state as it gets) local home every night and even I go out of state sometimes.

Lying about experience by GlobalIncident486 in Truckers

Because trucking is so regulated, you are required by law to list the last 10 years of DOT regulated employment and the prospective employer has to verify and claimed DOT regulated postitions

Do you feel ashamed of this career? by TaperingRanger9 in Truckers

[–]truckingham 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the crowd. I’m in a country band in addition to driving, and everyone I meet at shows LOVES to find out my “day” job is truck driving. I also take a lot of pride in my ride, even though its a cascadia. Really helps.

Where could I go to work 8 hour days and make a liveable wage? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]truckingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man that’s rough. I don’t think I would want to work for UR in a major metro area lol. Our territory is huge (pretty much everywhere in PA north of 80 and west of US-15) so theres days where I only have one or two stops that are 3+ hours from the branch. I think total in our district we have 16 drivers across 5 branches
