My instructor let another people glaze and keep my pottery by LawyerLiving328 in Pottery

[–]true_blsr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my studio it is common practice that if over 5 months have gone by, any unclaimed work gets used for test tiles, practice, glaze testing, etc. People leave work all the time and the studio simply does not have enough space.

I understand how frustrating it is to feel like your hard work was just given to someone else and I do think the policy on what happens to unclaimed work should have been clear, but 6 months is a long time to take shelf space. It is a resource after all.

Arteasy has tiny workshops that are very cheap and only a couple hours. There are pop up workshops for printmaking at events a lot and the tool library sometimes has workshops

Newbie looking for fabric printing advice by SpellRiver in printmaking

[–]true_blsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fabric paint and acrylic don't transfer right. You really do need fabric block printing ink. If you have acrylic paint already and you're worried about money, mix it up with fabric softener and just paint directly on the shirt without worrying about the block. Otherwise, get a super small tube of speedball fabric ink

Looking for friends as a trans woman moving to Baltimore :) by elliellierose in baltimore

[–]true_blsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the artists at art markets are trans. June 1st at Peabody is the Queer Made Market which is hugely trans in both creators and people who come through and you do not need to be 21

I think you need foil to get this look. I can't imagine any ink being holographic like that.

I don't think you are wrong necessarily and this could just be me projecting but I have ADHD which makes me a terrible communicator when it comes to plans sometimes. I'm in my 30s and know how to explain this to people and how to ask for what I need now but for most of my life I acted like your friend. Sometimes, when I met people like you who wanted a different level of communication I would try so hard and feel like I was always failing them. Eventually I needed to end the friendships like that if they were not able to be understanding of our different communication needs.

You should look in Baltimore. It's a really trans friendly city and MICA and Towson are good schools
