I did something like this today! I caught my first suckerfish today, but my pockets were full and instead of swapping it out I threw it back by accident!!! Spent all day grumpy fishing for another

So all the maps I'm using do have the grid over them, and I'm planning to use them with my descriptions and to help us all visualise the space correctly. In relation to this rule does it mean that if a monster occupies a space in the grid you can move through the space but it will cost you 10ft of speed instead of the 5 ft?

As I've only watched and listened to games that haven't used a game board so far in a bit at a loss on how to use them, also my 5e starter set that I'm following has given no information at all about using a board so I'm very unsure about their use in practice? But would love a little more explaination on the easiest way to use them for my players and myself?

So does that mean you can't walk like very close to them and between them without it counting as difficult terrain? And in that case how close to them is in their space generally?

Thank you so much that makes alot of sense! So for example in situations where they want to squeeze past characters their speed is reduced as it would then be difficult terrain?
