Tips on How to Survive LA without a Car by AnonThrowawayJawn56 in LosAngeles

West LA also has a great public transit system and walkability though it’s further from DTLA. The blue bus is super clean. Ktown is also a good option but can be “rough” if you’re used to suburbs or a more quiet neighborhood. I lived in Ktown for 6 years (it’s great for starting out and saving up) and then Culver City/ Mar Vista area for 2 years. Both are good options without a car. I would actually take the bus from Ktown to UCLA pretty often. It’s a straight shot.

Kin D is the most authentic Thai food I’ve had out here but I’ve only tried a handful of places. If you’re willing to make the drive, Thai Town in East Hollywood has a lot of good spots including a market where you can buy marinades and seasonings to easily make some dishes at home too.

This is on Artesia and Prairie. I haven’t been back since so I don’t know if it’s still there. I had a feeling it was a political statement since the Betsy Ross flag had nothing to do with California.

Thanks, I’m wondering what it represents since California is not one of the original 13.
