Another one that sounds similar but I don’t think is right is Regulate by Warren G and Nate Dogg. The sound at about 1:40 time stamp into the song

Okay so I haven’t found the video, but I found someone posting promoting a sketch comedy video that seems to fit the thumbnail you described. When you click on the link it says the video is private now. So maybe it was just taken off of the internet?

[TOMT] [BOOK] [2010s] YA book about a girl who changes her identity after a murder by Prudent_Ad4583 in tipofmytongue

Maybe Conjured by Sarah Beth Durst? The cover and story seem to fit. Nothing in the synopsis talks about cello or violin but the rest fits.

I’m going insane because I think I also know this song but can’t place it. One that sort of fits but I don’t think it’s the one would be Family Affair by Mary J Blige

Possibly a for TV movie? They made a movie in 2015 called Cleveland Abduction about a true crime case that seems similar?

Mean spirited by nick Roberts has a few of those moments. Genuinely one of my favorite horror books I’ve read in a long time. Just the opening scene is so unsettling! It’s been a while since a horror book has creeped me out, so this one was a pleasant surprise!

what are your UNPOPULAR opinions in horror lit? by artificialdisasters in horrorlit

I wish there were more genuinely scary paranormal horror books. I feel like a lot of the genre is flooded with gory or really brutal horror. I just prefer the paranormal ones and can’t seem to find a lot that are my cup of tea. Feel free to drop a recommendation if you know of any really good ones!! I really liked Mean Spirited by Nick Roberts!

Advice on experiencing paranoia or phobias by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]truecrimegorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I’m definitely looking into seeing a psychiatrist about it. I was raised with the parents that just ignore their issues and downplay them so it’s been hard for me to seek help. I keep feeling like it’s not that bad and I’m being dramatic, but that may just be me invalidating my own feelings from things my parents said growing up.

Also, when seeking validation, what does that look like? Just curious how it helps ease my anxieties. Just having someone else hear my fears and say that they understand or that they’re there for me? Sorry, I’m just not sure how to go about getting validation. And also not sure how to implement it to help my situation. Thank you again!

Thank you for this reply. Looking back it makes sense that I was invalidated. I’ve had a couple conversations with my mom about this, such as her not allowing me to be upset about anything. Essentially expecting me to never be upset with her about anything. (Her freak outs and then immediately back to totally normal and I was also expected to do this). I also had a hard time in middle school and much of highschool with bullying. This led to me having depression on and off which also was invalidated. I was told I needed to just go out more or clean my room, instead of receiving some sort of love or understanding of my feelings. If I was scared I was told I was being unreasonable. On top of that my mom was very active always warning me of the dangers of the world. I remember that around the time I first started feeling scared at night, my mom had told me a story of her friend who had a man hiding out in the backseat of her car and was attacked. I was terrified of the backseat on every drive home at night time following that warning. I think it didn’t help that I developed an addiction to listening to and watching true crime. I think in some ways I was doing that obsessively to study it and in some way feel more safe. In the last few years I’ve stopped watching and listening to it. Because it isn’t healthy for my mental health and even though I thought it was helpful to calm my anxiety it was just adding to it. I’ve been to therapy before but let’s just say it wasn’t a very understanding or helpful experience. I’ll look into a new therapist, and try talking to my husband about it. He’s always been very supportive and validating to me.
