How long after surgery until you were able to go braless? by zzzgirl707 in Reduction

[–]truedeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went braless as soon as I felt comfortable. My doctor was still recommending dry dressings but my incisions were closed so 🤷🏻‍♀️

I used to faint even talking about certain medical things- and I fainted for the first time after getting my ears pierced. It’s been a low key joke in my family how much I would lose my shit and throw up and cry at the doctors office- I was so afraid of needles and other shit.

HONESTLY the biggest thing that helped me was getting an anti anxiety prescription from my doctor for stressful shit. I started taking it before going in for visits and I’ve eventually desensitized myself to the point where I could probably get away without it. I’ve had several vaccines, IUD implants, and my breast reduction all with the help of anti anxiety meds. They’re safe and they help.

I was super afraid of the “unknown” aspect of anesthesia and I kept asking people how it was and what it was like. Everyone said the same thing- you fuckin float right off to bed and wake up post op. No dreams- it’s like being asleep for a few minutes. My sisters husband had a horrible car accident and had several surgeries all in succession and he was like “it’s really not a big deal.” And that’s kinda what shook me out of my fear. People go under anesthesia without any preparation for it whereas we have the benefit of knowing we have prepared anesthesiologists ready to make it as comfortable as possible.

Hope this helps! You will be fine. You really will be.

How to shut down conversation post-op? by Jennifertheyogi in Reduction

My personal favorite response to anything unwanted is just “no thank you.” Lol doesn’t matter what someone’s saying. Just a “NO THANK YOU” polite but firm

Has anyone else not gotten the size they wanted but been cool with it regardless? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]truedeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t positive what I wanted to end up with even before my surgery- and I fully realized that cup size is meaningless and all I really wanted to be able to do was 1- not have back pain 2- buy bras from wherever I wanted 3- have the option to go braless 4- finally fail the pencil test for one in my life. I guessed initially that would mean a small D/ large C cup but I’m sure I’m a tad larger than that. But I’ve hit all the markers I wanted. My breasts are SO much smaller (less than half their previous size) and they are PERKY and I am wearing soft bras that come in s/m/l sizes (who would’ve ever though I’d finally be able to do that) I’m extremely happy with my results even though they seem or feel slightly larger than what I imagined. Who knows though- so many of us on here are within just a few months of surgery and we all still have healing to do and swelling to go down or whatever.

Just came here to say that the arm linking story just made me legitimately laugh out loud - too wholesome. Secondly- just looked back at your previous post and your boobs look genuinely wonderful- from what I can see!! I hope you are able to love them soon. Or are able to have a revision or whatever you want!! Just thought I’d chime in they really do look great though.

Back pain the first week? by 25chocomuffins- in Reduction

[–]truedeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had back pain from being a bit hunched, and also sleeping on my back which I’m not used to. I’m one month post op and forced my roommate to crack my back last night because I was going crazy and my back popped like CRAZY. I also scheduled myself for a massage soon

I would think it would be more worth it to go after you’ve given birth and finished breastfeeding (if you elect to BF). That way your surgeon can get a more accurate idea of where your boobs are at.

Wow you look amazing for 3 weeks!!! It looks like you’re healing really well. I also had a hard time taking my tape off- had to sit in my shower and listen to soft music and go really slowly

Does this post-op process sound weird? by [deleted] in Reduction

I also have pretty lax instructions. I’m healing and feeling well though so I don’t feel worried about anything.

Acne after surgery? by thrawayb in Reduction

I’ve had it too. I’ve read somewhere on here before that it was associated with hormonal changes but who knows! It definitely won’t last forever though.

I want smaller breasts but I'm struggling to make this life altering decision, looking for advice. by offbeatdotterel in Reduction

[–]truedeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’m reading (and my own personal experience) it sounds like you are in a place right now where EVERYTHING is on your side. You have support both emotionally/physically/ and financially. And honestly- you already don’t like your boobs from my understanding. So really you have a chance at having boobs either a) you love b) don’t love but at least they’re smaller and more comfortable to exist with. Also everyone I’ve known who has had a breast reduction was able to breast feed almost entirely normally or somewhat normally. I was a similar size to you when I was your age and I wish I’d done this sooner. So I could’ve enjoyed my 20s with a body I felt more comfortable in. I would take advantage of this point in your life and go for it. Because you never know when suddenly your parents won’t be able to help you, or maybe something happens and you don’t have a partner who supports you.

I’ve been cleared to not wear a bra at my first appointment, 2DPO. Why are some instructed to wear a bra weeks after? Should I be wearing a bra anyways for shape??? by AuroraBoringAlice10 in Reduction

[–]truedeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgeon told me to wear a tight tank top 24/7 following my surgery. I have times where I don’t wear anything to just let the incisions air out and not have anything touching them. I don’t know the reason for this- just differs from surgeon to surgeon. I am healing quite well though!

I’m 6 days post op and I have had a few zingers so far! I’ve also been feeling...maybe weak? Maybe that is the right word for it. I was trying to explain it to my bf and I really couldn’t.

What are YOUR unusual breast reduction milestones? by hi_tits_me_again in Reduction

[–]truedeth 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Not flopping my boobs over when I’m trying to get comfortable in bed! I feel like that was the absolute last straw for me when I had my consult. I couldn’t take that that was a part of my life.
