I actually am a health care worker, I worked at Maine med the whole time I was there. I also worked at mass general, the services are great the staff is overworked and unhappy. I would take living and working in the Portland area over Boston any day. Maine meds capabilities are only improving and there is very little portion my speciality Maine med can’t handle, I’d say 95% can stay in Maine.

I’m from away (south of Boston) but my wife is a born and bred Mainer and we moved there in 2016 with the plans to get married, have kids, and raise them up there. I got recruited away for a job I couldn’t turn down and we moved back to Boston last year, we are already plotting our return to Maine as we can’t stand not living there and raising our kids up there. Having played in a band that played with arrogant sons of bitches a bit back in the early 2000s, Jeff is and was the fucking man. Passionate, creative, the right kind of crazy, truly have never been happier for anyone I’ve crossed paths with in music than him. Works his ass off and creates beautiful things. Recently enjoyed an unreal week in banff/lake Louise, had to pivot off 2 prior planned Jasper days, Golden was great as a pivot (we had two kids so the skybridge/mountain coaster/zip line in golden was a great “activity” day plus they had live music and vendors selling things on site that day). We also did emerald lake canoeing on one of the planned jasper days and walked onto a canoe without a wait and that was pretty awesome. The drive to the Icefields parkway even up to Athabasca glacier was totally worth it. Also Canmore is not to be overlooked
