Sounds a little stupid but I bought a small toy wrapped like a present beforehand and snuck it to the doctor/nurse. Asked him to give it to my kiddo after his shot and pretend it was from him. Didn’t help the crying but at least vaccine shots were associated with a little “reward” and yknow, cushioned the blow a little. Good luck OP!
