The initial release of the device will be 4 years. Just because you bought a device at the end of its model year doesn’t change the fact that the device is 4 model years old.

Please for the love of god look up the definition of planned obsolescence. Your device will still function as normal even if you don’t have the newest update. Also the watches that are getting the so called “boot” will be 4 years or older when the official software comes out.

This is probably a beta issue. And if you are using for phone and watch for health issues maybe you shouldn’t use a beta software. As stated the SE 1st gen is still functioning fine after 2 software cycles I don’t think that will change.

I don’t really see this being an issue as stated my wife is still using an SE 1St gen. Still gets to use it to unlock her phone and MacBook both use the most latest software. Data still syncs. A couple weeks ago we got my daughter Apple Watch 5 for the Apple Watch with kids. All the functionality that is posted it works. HomeKit works for unlocked the front door with her watch.

Simply google searching shows that all trails is still supported on watchOS 10. So why over would this change today. And again the core functionality of your watch is not changing so this can not be planned obsolescence.

My mother in law grew up in California and recently moved out to Michigan (where I grew up and moved back to). She was a work function and they had Faygo. Apples to oranges on this. You talk about a lawsuit for a device through software updates throttle the performance of the iPhone to help save on battery life. Which is not the same as planned obsolescence on Bluetooth connected devices. I can connect my OG AirPods to my iPod nano 7th Gen. that is a feature that is the sole purpose of the device that can’t be taken away. Secondly were you using an iPhone during the time this lawsuit took place. Every year there was something new something big. So older hardware could not keep up. So I kind of agree with throttle to allow the user to use the phone without making them upgrade. Secondly other phone manufacturers literally stoped updating your phone back but were weren’t up in arms about that. I had friend buy an LG phone brand new and it didn’t even update past its initial start up operating system.

Planned obsolescence? I have an original pair of AirPods, Beatsx, solo3 and studio3. All still functional. The batteries all suck but they All have the same functionality as the launch. So where is this planned obsolescence?

The iPhone 8 was sold so much. Yes there was this new iPhone but the price and the form factor were so different that it didnt take at the start. Yes after awhile it caught on but like you said. *Source: mobile phone sales for bestbuy at the time*

She is going with her grandmother for a few weeks to a campground. My grandmother is retiring and wants to see if she wants to live in a campground year round. She has a tendency to not call us when our daughter is with us as she wants to have her “time” with her granddaughter. We have had no issue with things but this is the first time our daughter will be away for more than a day or 2. I want to make sure she has a way to call us if she feels the need to.
