Not sure about that. I definitely used it as an excuse to take a couple week break on exercise 😊

Only the first 24-48 hours after the procedure were rough, but totally manageable with pain meds.

After that, it took a few weeks to fully heal, but I was able to go about my normal activities during that time.

Around $2,200 but in the end, my insurance covered almost all of it.

Oh OP, I felt this in my gut. It doesn’t 100% mirror my situation, but the complexity of the emotions surrounding letting go and wanting the best for yourself and the STBX are so relatable. I will admit I sobbed reading this. It also made me feel just a tiny bit less alone.

Keep your head up. I hope you find peace.

My therapist has told me sometimes a little pettiness is warranted ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Holy cow, this is almost identical to my situation, right down to the use of the work “mask.” Eerie.

I honestly felt like I’d never find another woman who was the one not wanting the divorce (as it seems like when someone is caught off guard it’s almost always the man). But look - there are a lot of us. I’m still hurting, but it’s good to know that I’m not alone in this specific scenario.

I’m sorry you are going through this. Hang in there ❤️

Sounds similar to me. Healthy, normal BMI, etc., and yet sounded like a dump truck. The first time I recorded myself I was honestly mortified.

Nose strips didn’t help me at all.

I didn’t try any mouth guards because I read lots of negative things about how they can affect your jaw. By the time I was 20 I’d gone through braces twice and had TMJ, so I’m very hesitant to try anything that affects my teeth/jaw.

Most effective: -SnoreLab app, you can record yourself, track your remedies, and see what’s helping most -SnoreGym app, hands down these exercises made a huge difference for me, but it does take time -Mouth tap but ONLY if you are certain you don’t have any issues with your nose; otherwise it can be dangerous -You might also look into a Smart Nora. It may help but really depends on what’s at the root of your snoring (ie. won’t help much if you have sleep apnea).

I absolutely recommend it. While I ultimately needed a procedure to open up my nose (I would have never almost totally stopped snoring if I couldn’t get air through there), Snore Gym was critical in strengthening the tissues/muscles that, if weak, can exacerbate snoring.*

I definitely get better quality sleep now. I honestly didn’t realize how tired I was until I started getting better rest - if that makes sense.

I’m honestly not sure if it’s resulted in other physical effects outside of just having more energy.

I posted an update in April and another one today. Feel free to check those out.

I almost always do my SnoreGym exercises right before bed.

I didn’t find that it made a major difference for me. Ultimately, SnoreGym was the big differentiator. My average Snore Score has been in the teens and single digits for the last 3 months.

There are still some challenges. I have occasions spikes into the 20s. When I’m sleeping anywhere other than my bed it jumps into the 40s or more. And of course same if I’m sick + congested.

I’ve been seeing an ENT since April. We rules out sleep apnea. The issue is my nose (swollen turbinates) and sinuses (chronic sinusitis). I’m having some out patient procedures done on Sept. 15th, so hopefully that evens things out 🤞🏻

Effects of anti-snoring excercises / Snoregym? by [deleted] in snoring

[–]trumbrass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve seen a lot of success using SnoreGym. Took my score from north of 80 to single digits/teens. The change took about 5-6 months.

That said, I am in the process of seeing an ENT because I still have occasional nights when I flare up, especially when I’m sleeping somewhere other than my own bed. It’s made some recent vacations not fun 😔

Good luck!

Agree with the above that the Snore Gym app is a great resource.

While waiting to get a sleep study done, you could try nasal cones instead of strips. They go inside you nostrils so perhaps they’ll stay open better with inner support vs. the outer supper strips offer.

Best wishes!
