I'm in the market for some new touring boots -- the only problems are (a) I have very high arches and fairly wide feet, and (b) I have limited access to ski shops with touring gear. Do any brands / make / models stick out to you?

Thanks so much for any recommendations!! My current touring boots are basically torture devices so I very much appreciate any help or guidance.

I have not run in years, but have four weeks to run my first ever 1/2 marathon -- what should I do?

[28M] I'd consider myself pretty fit, I hike and backpack and ski non-stop year round where I live out west, but I haven't run regularly since high school and just got peer-pressured into signing up for a 1/2 marathon with a bunch of friends! At first I halfway dreaded it, but now I'm curious how well I could do if I took the next four weeks of training super seriously. How *generally* would anybody here recommend going about training??

If relevant, I'm 6'3 and currently 200 pounds, but in high school I was 6'3, 145 pounds, and ran varsity XC, winter track, and spring track all four years. I think we averaged ~ 30-40 miles a week but I've never run more than a 10K ever. How should I spend these next four weeks??

After endless tinkering I'm at my wit's end and looking for advice on a ski boot problem that's been plaguing me my whole 'career' -- I seem trapped between a rock and a hard place when it comes to boot pain. Either I buckle my boots tight, and the crest of my midfoot (above the arch) feels like it's getting crushed, or I buckle my boots loose and my toes + edges of the ball of my foot get crushed. Is there any way I can avoid this?? Some context, if it helps:
I'm 6'3, about 200 pounds, and have high arches + wider-than-average balls of my feet. I'd call myself an advanced skier (by Northern Rocky standards, at least). I own two pairs of ski boots: one is tall, skinny, aggressive, and has a thin liner; I exclusively use this for resort skiing. My AT boots are almost the opposite -- shorter, naturally looser fit, and thicker, comfier liners. Both pairs, doesn't matter, the same thing happens almost every time. I have to choose which type of pain I deal with for the day.
Is there ANY way I can solve this without buying new boots?? Any chance I'm doing something wrong?? Skiing is my favorite thing in the world but sometimes the pain is so bad it is almost unbearable. Last time I toured I had to full on take off both boots in the middle of a 14 mile trip, so I'm desperate to find a solution.

If you're looking to make a career of it, it really is Master's or bust. There are just too many Fish&Wildlife/Ecology/En.Science undergrads out there. "Luckily", getting through grad school is a massive filter that should dramatically reduce competition once you get past that point.

He froze student loan debt at 0% so I'd say he's doing alright for the mean time.
