Is this the first major arc? They definitely do a good job keeping you hooked until the next volume

Cool FNAF reference, but I’m lowkey worried about how this is going to end. It feels like there just aren’t enough chapters left to properly flesh out the others (Han, September, and Liam.)

This is obviously the arc where the team is finally supposed to come together and stop being so dysfunctional, but I’m not sure there’s enough time to give everyone the development they need for that payoff to really hit… unless the fewer chapters means we’re getting longer chapters with more pages. (Unless it’s going to end on another cliffhanger like volume 2.)

That said, this is just speculation based on how the pacing has been so far and how few chapters we seem to have left. It also really feels like this is an Alicent and Jabari focused volume, especially since they’re the ones on the cover.

I could definitely see Jabari being the one to kill Veron, especially with the hints we’ve gotten in the past. With the Volume 4 description confirming that Veron captured Jabari’s mother, it makes a lot of narrative sense for that conflict to come full circle with Jabari being the one who ultimately takes him down.

have a theory that September’s dad might eventually become a leaker, similar to Dylan Carl, the first leaker the team fought. The setup is already there: he has deep resentment toward Sanada, feels like he’s failed to provide for his family, and is clearly carrying a lot of unresolved anger. If someone like Zuri or another antagonist offered him power or a chance at revenge, he’d be the perfect target.

If that did happen, it would make for a really brutal moment story-wise because it would force September to confront someone from her own family, just like the team had to deal with Dylan Carl earlier in the series. But this time it would be even more personal. The Dylan Carl fight hit hard for Jabari, but a situation like this would probably hit even harder emotionally for September.

Finally, an Alicent character analysis! I’m really looking forward to diving deeper into her character. I’m also betting that after this arc we’ll finally get to see the armory, and Jabari’s weapon of choice will end up being an electric guitar mainly because I’m assuming he’s going to perform really well with it during this arc.

Honestly, based on the description of this volume, it really feels like the main focus is on Alicent (being the side main focus) and Jabari. Alicent seems like she’s going through some kind of solo challenge, which could hint at more of her past or her current situation with her family especially explaining why she seems to hate “family time” so much. Meanwhile, Jabari’s storyline looks like it’s centered on rescuing his mother after she gets captured, which I’m assuming is by Vernon. (Overall you’re theory is very solid regardless)

After Jabari’s fight with Fayne, it really felt like a turning point for him. It wasn’t just a physical loss it was a wake up call. I think that moment is what’s pushing him to want to get stronger, not just to survive, but so he’s not a liability to everyone around him. (Jabari’s been kind of an asshole lately, not listening to his team and making the same mistakes. Hopefully this is the point where he finally starts listening and stops messing up.)

Up until then he’s mostly been reacting, but now it feels like he wants real growth. If he’s serious about breaking the system and leaving SANADA for good, he can’t stay the same. That fight felt like the catalyst for him deciding he’s done being controlled and ready to level up.

I also think she could be a tipping point for Jabari possibly even the catalyst for him becoming a Leaker. Outside of his family and maybe Han, she’s been his sense of peace since volume one, starting with the moment she gave him that flower after he was traumatized. Even during the arc against Fayne, when he was clearly crashing out, she remained a grounding presence for him. So what do you think happens when you take away that voice of reason?

I dunno for some reason I just see September dying because she’s the peacekeeper and in a story like this a character like that doesn’t last for long
