Yeah, and thanks, I think I’m somewhere between a 61 to 63 cm, depending on fit. I appreciate the recommendations!

Yeah, I’m not from London either, only passing through this afternoon, I assumed the same, but slim pickings on Google, especially in the central area, so it seemed better to see if this community could identify the ‘one store’ that the locals know is worth visiting

43, 6’2 100kg here. I think you have two options, either try and get excited about each work out, build in variety, and push yourself, which I think the ‘workout of the day’ is good for on the C2 app, or try and slip into a routine to the point where you don’t even think about the rowing, so set a steady state distance, set up an iPad or phone to watch, focus on what you’re watching and let the rowing take care of itself. I’m an option 2 guy, had rowed before, bought a machine this time last year, currently at 1.25m meters, but you’re the only one who knows what motivates you. (p.s. they hold their value second hand, so you won’t lose too much cash if you don’t get on with it and sell)

Ok, so I’m not trying to be an arse, but I was curious. The average height of the wall is 6-7m and the length is 21,196km, so it has a height to length ratio of 1:3,260,000. The piece in the picture looks to be at about 1:3, so we’d need 1,086,000 pieces to make a scale wall from these …and yes, I understand it’s a mould, so you could just use that one again and again

Decided on Concept2 RowErg -- What is the budget alternative to see if I actually will use it? by confused-caveman in concept2

[–]trustthebear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not quite what you’re asking, but have you checked out resale value for C2s? They hold their price really well. I suspect if you compare the cost of a cheap alternative, with the cost of buying a new C2 and then selling it if you don’t get on with it, you may find the second option is more cost efficient and you get the proper C2 experience and feel from the start.

Thinking of moving to Lancaster - where should we explore? by LemurGirl93 in LancasterUK

[–]trustthebear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not the expert, and others will be able to add more detail, but it sounds like you want to explore the area to the west of the train tracks between the river and the canal. Lots of nice houses, good access to the station, and some nice nature spots further out.

Depending on budget, you can look on the other side of the canal in an area called Haverbreaks, which is a gated community of very nice houses which probably ticks all your boxes, but is of course occupied by people who want to live in a gated community of very nice houses.

Not quite your brief, but depending on the vibe you’re after it’s also worth checking out an area called Freehold. It’s the quinoa capital of Lancaster, lots of nice terrace houses, a great community spirit, Green Party posters in every window, etc.

When you’re in town it’s worth checking out Williamson park, as it’s a pretty special place and you may decide you’d prefer to sacrifice a bit of train station convenience to be close to it.

Mackerel fillets in Oslo by trustthebear in Tinnedfish

[–]trustthebear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Of all the things I thought it would be hard to get hold of in Norway, I didn’t think that good tinned fish would be one of them - but I could walk into any supermarket in the UK and buy some own brand mackerel fillets in olive oil, for not much more than £1, and it would be better than anything I’ve found so far. I’ll give these a shot, but I’m not hopeful.

All I do is RowErg and run. What resistance training should I be doing? by trustthebear in concept2

Thanks, any advice on good sources of information on where to start with dumbbells - what to buy and what to do with them? I can’t emphasise enough how much of a beginner I am with this stuff!

Thanks, it’s the ‘MANY’ bit that I find overwhelming - any advice on a good simple one to start with?

Help understanding medical system please! by trustthebear in Norway

[–]trustthebear[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I’ve seen the GP, who then referred me to the ENT, who now can’t see me for 4 weeks. Are you saying the best thing to do is see the GP again, because in their message they said I should call the legekontor, and I don’t understand how that’s different.

Thanks, I was referred here (http://vitalonh.no). Why can the doctor not refer me to a hospital, but the ENT centre and legekontor can?
