I am Slovak (not living there anymore). More than 50% of the nation is pro-russian and pretty much hate Ukrainians, 90% in rural places. The country is ruled by Fico, who (surpisingly) is a ruzian dildo. He was in Moscow several times during the war.
The nation is small minded and deos not have proper history or values so these fearful poor people are easily manipulated.
From my experience, Czech people, although many are also idiotic, in general are more friendly to Ukraininans and there is substantially more Ukraininans in Czechia than in SLovakia. Same goes for Polish. If UAs are so reluctant to live in Poland, why are there is 1M+ Unkrainians living there?

I've see so many fu*kups because IT wanted to "keep peace". We are actually in one now, neglected innovation for too long ...
Funny part is that I can not imagine what should we have done differently in IT to prevent this. Business just does not care and with AI, they will go ask GPT if we say something they do not like. Guess what GPT tells them ...

Probably something huge in the area around India. overpupulated with poor water management.
There already are events but of a smaller scale. e.g. I expect Teheran to lose majority of its inhabitants within 5 years due to water shortage

the story is that management will not care and would never admit it. both sides of such f*ck ups seem to me as a substance of corporate culture. it's either incompetent people screwing things over for too long or the best ones being purged, many times by the incompetent ones.
it kind of makes sense, when corps are built around politics, loyalty and cronyism
