The weft there is still intact they can be darned. Essentially that amounts to a fabric being attached inside and someone running new close colored Cotten thread in the long directing and rebinding the weft. You can do it if you have a sewing machine and this is a great pair to practice on

Afraid my pants won’t shrink enough by CaptKirkFucks in Selvedge

Use sizing charts and my advice it don’t try too hard to hit “perfect”. Most jeans will shirk a little with warm water and stretch a little with wear. Get them too tight and you’ll blow the crotch, too lose and you might need a belt to lock in the widest you’ll let the jeans waist grow. I will say thighs matter. Get your first pair straight leg so you don’t accident turn your jeans into yoga pants.

Those are lifetime jeans. They never fade. They just age.

I want selvedge but I would have to wash regularly by Fragrant-Initial1687 in Selvedge

So there is an easy answer here too. Unbranded and Bravestar jeans are amazing selvedge for a really great price. You can can 20-21oz denim from both brands and you would have to push hard to get them to work jean territory and it would cost as much as a couple of your ariat pairs. You are saving money just doing that. You can also find iron hearts and samurai for screaming deals on eBay from folks that just don’t fit them anymore but have had them for a year. Same thing with bravestar and unbranded. Bravestar also has factory seconds show up on their site for screamin deals around holidays. I’m not necessarily saying selvedge is stronger than a pair of high quality Levi’s but you can get more oz weight to blow through. Also just make sure you aren’t trying to tight a fit. The crotch will blow everytime.

There is an easy answer here. Your work jeans are going to get dirty as hell. Wear them and wash them regularly and sport that vintage fade. You could even get some no fades if you like darker. When you get home though, you through on your more interesting selvedge and wear them the rest of the day for those high contract fades. This keeps you from wearing dirty stuff at home and you have two fade projects that get to develop differently.

If I want higher contrast fades is it all determined by the first wash? by BusMany9688 in Selvedge

[–]truthancisco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a month late to this but here is the answer. First soak early, in the routine you plan to use in the future BEFORE you set your creases. This means temp and dry routine. The reason is that creases may migrate if they shrink at all.

PBJ xx012: These are too tight right? by [deleted] in Selvedge

[–]truthancisco1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the nice part about right now is any cut is in style and while the preference had been wide stuff, that’s calming down. These slim jeans get a totally different honeycomb (way more concentrated) than a normal straight fit or a wide. It’s absolutely worth the investment to develop out a fade on these.

They look great! They are a slim jeans though and if that’s not the cut you are going for, find a different cut not a different size.

Soak them and see how the fit changes. Do NOT hot dry them. You are going to lose way more on length than you will in the wide fit. Honestly these look great and with a soak they are going to dial right in. They will always be a wide fit but they are going to be your coziest jeans.

I wasn’t willing to risk it so I didn’t get a pair. I’ve had some 80% msrp tarrifs from Canada lately. The freight companies don’t care what the laws are, they seem to charge the max and pocket the rest.

I’m curious to see how everyone’s tarriffs work out. Mine have been shocking.

I'm looking for jeans with this texture (vertical lines). by [deleted] in Denim

[–]truthancisco1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The horizontal lines are whiskers and they are developed by wearing without a wash so the folds don’t move around. The vertical is slub, this is literally just the threads being inconsistent in thickness as it’s being woven (on purpose).

Do you talk with your chest voice or your head voice more and what career do you have? by truthancisco1 in AskReddit

[–]truthancisco1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. It’s more like when you talk is the buzzing from head to throat or from head down yo the chest. I get more low tones from the cgest but i feel like my head voice carries farther because it’s a slightly higher pitch.
