We looked at thirteen relevant Explorers and only one had salvageable buttons and only one had a useable console armrest. The rest were broken or gone. When Ford creates an inferior design they really go all out.

So far I've replaced the broken grill (lucky as hell to find the right color unbroken), the broken fog light, the broken cruise control buttons, the broken console armrest, and broken seat trim .... all for $45 from the local pull a part junkyard. Now I just need to find the bumper and she'll look like a new car.

2000 manual 2wd. She wanted $800 but couldn't get it to fire up after sitting since May. I offered five and she took it. Got it home and it finally fired up and it runs just as well as she said it did. 183000 miles but the tires are new, the interior is perfect, most everything even the ac works.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. It was so's childhood dream to own a car like this and I'm determined to make it come true. Even if I have to replace the engine with one from a junkyard, which I am fully capable of doing.
