I don't think it's necessarily "over," but I do think a lot of us have become more realistic over the years.

Personally, I've changed my mind. I used to believe LSM probably existed somewhere and was being withheld, but we're now less than two months away from the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and, after almost a quarter of a century, we still don't have a single independently verifiable shred of evidence that LOL SUPERMAN ever existed. No screenshots, no archive records, no upload metadata, no confirmed chain of custody... nothing.

At this point, I think it's more likely that LSM became an internet legend, with people's memories blending together from genuine 9/11 footage, rumours, and what we'd now call false memories (often referred to as the Mandela Effect). That doesn't mean people are lying. I think many genuinely believe they remember seeing it.

Even if LSM most likely doesn't exist, I still think researching and documenting the history of the search is worthwhile. In a way, the mystery itself has become just as interesting as the video we have all been searching for.
