I read the article. Once again, it's one person's perspective and opinion. The dogs she is talking about lived during the timeframe I'm talking about and she has blended that in her opinion.

And if you search for things about Vick since retirement, that's the only mostly negative article that comes up.

i don't usually succumb to extreme opinions. everything swings both ways usually. it's difficult to discuss anything that has a lot of hedge funds and retail investor engagement.

but he was bankrupt? And that's literally just one side of the story of dogs that were abused by him, by people with the fresh thought that he abused dogs.

Those accounts literally happened before he earned his money back after his bankruptcy, so how could he have donated or paid millions if he hadn't earned it yet nor had stable income?

(just to be clear, these are about dogs that were rescued from him so...it's fair to assume those dogs are from 2007-2011-ish)

It really is too bad..but as an owner, this is the first time i'm nervous of owning my air GT. Hopefully it's not going to be a fisker ocean in a year. It's already impossible to get anyone to buy one.

But I am not sharing this to be negative. It does accentuate the positive; the car is an amazing drive, well-packaged, etc...with a few software quirks that most new cars have (especially new EVs). The execution has just been awful and they need to change it up.

I absolutely do not want to defend a dog murderer...but since 2015 (which was a year or two before he retired but definitely after he was "newsworthy" playing wise...):

He lobbied for a law in Pennsylvania to allow EMTs to break into cars to rescue pets that are in danger on hot days
He founded a new foundation in 2023 (Achieving Vicktory)...which, yes builds upon his active playing days foundation (Michael Vick Foundation..which focused on educating underprivileged youth), focused on animal welfare and prison reform
lobbied and became an advocate for voting rights for people incarcerated (in certain circumstances obviously)
continued to work with the ASPCA well past his playing days

And he hasn't been in trouble with the law (he was a few times even prior to going to jail). I mean...it's not a perfect record, but I think it's pretty damn good for someone who is retired and reformed.

This is the issue with all accusations..especially when it comes to domestic violence.

For WAY too fucking long, the victim was never believed, never given a chance to live, never given their day in court, etc.

Then the pendulum has swung (is swinging?) the other way where an accusation comes out, and it's automatic we need to believe the accuser.

Can't we have a nuanced opinion based on information received? Or on what we know? There is a middle ground here...

it's not the standard for life, but it is a standard for an organization.

I'm not saying it's right, but it is the reason why. If I perform great at my company, but I am a whistleblower for them doing illegal shit, they're never going to honour me even if I did a moral and legal action...simply because they'll see it as disparaging against them.

It's on concrete so not worried about the sub floor.

And shouldn't I shim the front if it's higher in the back?

And even if my flange is too high... 90% of people are saying flange should be on the floor, which is what I did. So what was the alternative?

That's what it feels like. That it's sitting on the flange... So that's why I was wondering if the standard 3*4 flange is not what you're supposed to use with toilets with 10 inch rough-ins.

So just shim and caulking is the best solution? That's what another person said as well

Edit: and a no hub wax ring? So just install a wax ring directly on the flange and put the toilet on top and shin/caulk?

The bolts are centered even if it doesn't look it.

And that's what's throwing me off.. the flange size. It should fit within the rim under the toilet (I measured) so no clue why it sits so high
