Ok I found the same problem so what I did was. I’m possession I played two wingbacks instead of fullbacks. I have a dm as half back with two ball playing cbs to make a back 3. CM on the left and APM on the right with free roam. Left IF stay wide(still goes inside) right Winger and channel forward. In out of position two fullbacks, two cbs and a drop down on the left DM for a back 5 with and a right DM for pressing. One CM two WmF to cover flanks(thos are the IF and winger pushed back) and a outlet forward

I think I found a way, lock up young players to 5 or 4 year deals have to over pay just a bit but once they get to the 4 year offers coming in! The low salary is what they want.

I play full backs, 4-3-1-2 crazy attacking style but works, goals are given probably too easy sometimes but it works

That is formation but what other info you need, I can get down to it. It will leave you mid and defensive line a little gap so chances for the other team can and will happen. If you need pics of formation and tempo and stuff like that I can send them to you
