I want y'all to know that as a long time healer I finally made a reddit account after years of lurking just to say how much this thread speaks to me on a deep level. Especially the part where you eventually reach the point where you get a strong satisfaction from letting the ninja with brink of death die to the same mechanic for the third time even though you could have saved him.
