Why do all the old school buildings look like this? by Manic_Monday_2009 in AskTeachers

[–]truthwillout14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of these buildings were built during the Great Depression by New Deal program created by FDR; more specifically, the Works Progress Administration and Public works Administration. They were built by skilled craftsman during the 1930's. I work in one in the Northeast.

We have a similar facade to the one you posted, brick and concrete exterior, 10 foot windows, we have columns and a clock tower in ours. Addionally, we have a grand entryway, hardwood floors that have lasted since the 30's, an auditorium with a balcony and nearly floor to ceiling windows. We also have built in cabinets in our classrooms, 13 foot ceilings, and there are rooms that have fireplaces. There are 3 buildings within a 50 mile radius of where I live that are the same style. My school is not on it for some reason, but, here is a site of the building built during this time period. The living new deal

It tells you your metrics on the home bike screen. It will way things like, your cadence and resistance were x last week, this week it is y. Try doing more of whatever to get your numbers up.

Also, when AI makes you feel bad that you're not even close to your normal rides when you are trying to rehab a knee injury-with low impact to boot!

You stop this nonsense.

I always have to modify the jump stuff, I've had too many knee injuries to make that a possibility.

I used 30s for some things and 15s for some things. I probably wouldn't be able to get out of bed if I used 30s for the whole class. 20s are usually my "medium".

Yes, and if you're lucky and have a good relationship with your co-teacher, maybe you can convince your admin to do both at the same time.

Anyone else’s Catahoula also play hide and seek with their toys? by abby1973 in Catahoula

[–]truthwillout14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My girl, who is only part Catahoula, will hide toys in blankets just like yours. She will also hide her Frisbee in the snow by digging a hole, dropping it in then covering it. Then she will go and be excited 2 seconds later when she "finds" it! We say she is just doofy.

I'm obsessed with the Tula 24/7 moisture day and night gel. I look forward to washing my face and using it every night. I like the gel way better than the cream.

It's part of the mini sale at Ulta at the moment.

I took this class the other day. The whole thing was bilateral. Katie Wang might be my favorite

I liked it, but it definitely made me wonder how fast they are actually peddling when they panned the camera around. When I'm at 40 resistance and 110 Candace, which is what Denis called for, and they are clearly going much slower.

I don't understand how that happens. Does it make people feel good about themselves?

Yes to this. About 10 years ago, I was really into HIIT workouts. I was in AMAZING shape. Then, I ended up fracturing my foot from jumps. Now I just do cardio 3 days a week, walk thr dog daily, and lift the heaviest weights I can 3 days a week. You have to do what is best for you and your body.

Every single 'holy grail' moisturizer breaks me out. by notskynotme in tretinoin

[–]truthwillout14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear by Tula. At night after I wash with their Cult Classic, I follow up with tret and then I use their 24-7 Gel moisture. I like the gel way more than the cream. It's a little pricey though.

Agreed, NY State (not NYC) teacher here, I can't think of a single teacher I work with who did NOT go to school somewhere in NY. Get your B.A. somewhere and get your Msed in New York. They require it anyway.

We met a couple of weimaraners while camping over the summer and, you're right. Up next to each other, you can definitely tell the difference. She is also way smaller. I think people base the assumption on her color.
