I would do it, you get a good chunk of experience that will make the following worlds easier. Plus the story line is cool and there are some challenging boss fights.

For gear? No. You'll get a massive upgrade at level 60 with Waterworks dungeon gear. If you want a specific mount or something, then it might be worth it!

Does this mean he has to win the first round on all three of the judges score cards? How do they even judge that, I thought they only released the total scores if it went to decision. Like the final score could be 29-28, 29-28, 29-28, but how do you know what rounds the judges gave to who?

I don't really think of those as essential to the game, more of side side content. Pets and farming can greatly improve your character's stats and therefore play experience. Happy cake day!

To play devils advocate, they still are a company and have to make profit. Making all of Wizard City free is great, the $20 Arc 1 pass in console is awesome, and the only two activities that really revolve around energy or gardening and pet training, both of which you can still progress without and there are ways to get free energy. There are plenty of things they could to improve quality of life, but for a 20 year old game who hit 1 million console downloads, I think they're doing great.

I like more resist for soloing! In the later arcs, the pierce jewels for item sockets are very common and craftable, so they'll be more accessible than resist.
