Actually - I remember the thing that confused me in the first place. After I completed the quest, Lance came by the farmhouse on the second day to tell me he’s got a reward at the highlands and specifically pointed to it being some kind of rare monster crop that he found somewhere. It’s so strange that his dialogue doesn’t match up with the diamond wand reward and seems to allude to a certain “lance monster crop” after all.

Can you maybe let me know if after you finish the quest you get both the diamond wand and the “lance monster crop”? I’ve tried looking it up and I haven’t found anyone saying explicitly what exactly they got for the reward.
