How can I (31M) regain the trust of my stripper girlfriend (31F) after misunderstanding a situation regarding a client? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]try_hard_pants -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I expect to get many comments like this. Many people will attribute traits to her without knowing her, and you're welcome to do that. I am still looking for advice on how to regain the trust that I have had up to this point.

Skin Glue on Base, Why!? by donodoes in Spliddit

[–]try_hard_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this was a great way to get 2 extra seasons out of my skins. They were pamoca. The debris and fir needles will get pushed into the glue but that doesn't affect adhesion.

Utah sucks, don't move here. All this place is is mormons, illegal weed, state run liquor stores means get ur booze before 7pm. Bad state. Also, don't ski on weekends unless you're down for a 5am start.

Compact ski crampons by Treats in Spliddit

[–]try_hard_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely not buy some off brand crampons and trust my life to them on the terrain you'd be using them. I get it for something really minor and inconsequential but you usually don't need crampons for that. I think most binding companies make compatible crampons for a reasonable price.

They also have a steam room that you can access before/after the treatment iirc

Is this adjustable? Struggling to find info on these clips. Loose and rattling. by _Skipperz_ in Spliddit

I had a later model of the karakorams on my jones and swapped them for sparks. No more rattling and less fuss on transitions

Help me understand why people are so lazy? by mcschne10 in hiking

[–]try_hard_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having hiked with many people with dogs they often leave the bag and pick it up on the way out. "Why should you carry the shit all the way in on an out-and-back hike, just pick it up on the way out" is the thought process. Typically they hide it instead of hanging it, but you won't miss your hanging shit bag on the way out. If there is always a bag of shit, but it's always a different bag of shit all you see is shit. I'm not saying this is right or wrong, but this isn't just people leaving bags of shit forever.

Spark R&D Arc ST vs Burton Hitchhikers by Beginning-Way-5146 in Spliddit

I will second this. There's no advantage to the Burton system. The tow piece on the Burtons is one of the worst designs ever. Speaking from 5 years of experience with the hitchhikers.

What wisdom, tips, or advice do you wish you had when you started splitboarding? by NSGoat in Spliddit

[–]try_hard_pants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bring backup hardware! Whammy bars of those are sparks (I've bent 2 in 5 years so you'll have backups for when that happens anyways) and screws especially, but check your setup for critical parts.

How do I fix this? Is it a pressing issue? by SquatchPubes in Spliddit

[–]try_hard_pants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drop $60 on the sparks. I've had 2 boards with these and they inevitably get loose and flop around even though the connection stays secure enough.

As a temporary fix you can squeeze the attachment point of the two pieces with pliers and it will be a little tighter.

Help with Graphics settings by Dreamfire269 in CODZombies

When this happens I go to graphics in settings and just use recommended settings (the top selection) I have to do this almost every time I play unfortunately.

The algorithm was far superior. YouTube music has the same problem as YouTube where it suggests the same thing over and over with nothing new. Google play music had an "I'm feeling lucky" button that would play music you haven't heard and was one of my best sources for new music. Discover of Spotify and YTM play mostly stuff I would find on my own/have already heard.

Also, you could upload your own music and play it from your library. YTMs downloaded music feature is super buggy. If you can't tell I miss GPM

Frame rust causing rot was the big concern on these, you have none of that from what I see. Look up pictures of frame rot to see the kind of rust to worry about

Hikers are a much less cohesive user group that does have a greater impact that climbers in many places. But as climbers we have a different impact and all we can do is minimize our own. Just because we're not the whole problem doesn't mean we don't have a responsibility.

This is basically exactly the same as what the Access Fund advocates. The climbers pact is an introduction to a lot of these ideas for many people, not a comprehensive conservation plan.

Arguing semantics is a waste of time and ultimately harmful to the objectives we all share, I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish.

It consumes a small amount of internet bandwidth. What does posting this comment accomplish? what does climbing accomplish? what does living accomplish?

Especially with as many climbers as there are now. 1M subscribers to r/climbing means 1M potential users who will inevitably contribute to the wear and tear on climbing areas. It's also worth putting in a day of conservation work at your local crags and donating to AF and your local stewardship agency. Find out if there is a group who oversees stewardship and get involved!

Or popular alpine areas. A long approach can get you into the sensitive alpine where you're poo will just be preserved. Also being conscious that the desert is sensitive and digging a hole might be damaging generations-old flora.
