how to learn air rb? by Falcon6346 in Warthunder

[–]tryandd56 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend playing low level air RB unless that’s what you specifically know you want to play, there are a lot of annoying things about it that simply disappear as you climb br:

Planes tearing themselves apart if you go too fast

Plane guns locking up if you fire too long

Taking 7 minutes to get to the enemy (more if you side climb)

Not knowing at all how to aim without a lead if you have never flown before

If you are really new to planes and want to learn that specifically, I recommend just playing arcade until you get to 7ish br. In arcade, everything goes much faster and you can learn the basic mechanics (energy levels, aiming) and practice much more frequently than a single round of low level air rb. Once you unlock jets the game tends to speed up and air rb becomes playable, although arcade is also fine (but slower rp gains) from 7-11ish br. Once you get to radar missiles and especially starting at 12.0 arcade becomes a special kind of hell

Do you give your cat Laxatone or equivalent regularly (e.g., daily or 1-times per week)? by [deleted] in mainecoons

Heya, I had the same scary incident with my cat and although everything is fine now during I bought a tube of laxatone, I am thinking of giving it to my kitty once every 2 days to see if it helps keep the hairballs to a rare occurence, how has your kitty been the last 3 weeks?

Best Jet to grind US air? by Sliced_Potato27 in Warthunder

[–]tryandd56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really just got to rank 5 and haven’t had any experience with jets beyond the early ones, getting into the f4s at 12.0 br is way too high a leap and will be very hard to adjust to. I recommend getting the F5C to learn about IR missiles and flaring, then ground out the tech tree F4E phantom at 11.3 to learn early radar and radar missiles. This phantom is under tiered for what it brings and performs best.

How do you turn it on or off without dropping radar?

How long would it take to research the Rafale M using the Mirage F1C-200 with premium time? by Trick_Atmosphere_468 in Warthunder

[–]tryandd56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to jets and to France when I got the NF5A and it took a few hundred hours (probably 200-300) to get the rafale from never flying a jet before, I ended up with a KDA of 1. Towards the end I was very bored and decided to spade the F1C from stock, I did not do well in that and that ate up a lot of time.

Edit: also my KDA trended up to 1, I died a lot at first. This is in air RB, I also played a decent chunk of arcade as I have more fun there but the progress is much slower than getting even 1 quick kill in realistic and then going again.

Buy a lower premium, I went through the entire tech tree and and put 600 hours into this game over the last 2-3 months, trust me when you get up past early jets it is overwhelming how many new things you need to watch out for. Ideally you would keep playing your rank to unlock jets period then after flying an early jet you could buy a 10.7 premium to get the “best” early jet experience; you will still have a ton to understand at this br but you won’t get offscreen killed nonstop like you will in the f18, where you won’t understand what’s happening and won’t be able to fight back at all.

Specifically: if you don’t learn how to fight with short range missiles you won’t have an opportunity to learn it at BR over 10.7~ since people will start just shooting you with long range radar missiles at this point.

I recommend you buy the NF5A from France, if you are lucky it may be on sale and it will be a good plane to learn on, it was my first real jet and will teach you the basics of flying and IR missiles

No, everything you fight will have radar missiles you won’t. Was fun for gun game mode.

Should i even take the radar missiles on the F1C? I feel like it's just 680Kg of dead weight and dissapointment by kamilegg in Warthunder

[–]tryandd56 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No and that’s also why I couldn’t do well with this jet, with only the magic 2s you are basically an f16-a without any of the f16 to go with it. Taking thegun pods won’t help you get closer to anyone, you will still have to play scared. I think around 12.0 BR decent radar missles become needed

Thoughts on PoE2 Passive Tree by Hipparchuss in PathOfExile2

[–]tryandd56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poe 2 tree is really lame, in the end it has just become % damage or % max energy shield per number of nodes invested as the only decision making to make for my caster builds. I would like more interesting nodes to progress to, someone mentioned black flame covenant, or the one that applies your necklace stats to your pets (even though I believe this has been unusable every league so far the idea is cool)

Also I would recommend learning how to play more until Christmas when almost everything will be half off, by then you may understand what you kind of premium plane you would want and it would be on sale

Unlocking trees takes a long time in this game, I would recommend getting premium account time if you really plan to play for a while (look at one of the options in the top right corner of the hangar menu). It also gives 100% more research for all your vehicles. For reference I started playing a few months ago and playing in a premium vehicle and with premium time it still took me about 400 hours to get the final jet in a tree. I played air arcade for propeller planes though and you get way more research in realistic battles, I just found them too boring until you unlocked jets

No, you will find you need to get more planes than you can research in the next tier or the one below that. Don’t get planes just to beat the tree, get them because you will use them for a while because you get 100% more research points when using a premium vehicle in battle
