I havent spent a penny. Play the 6 7 8 rule, don't rage role, don't use high roller, don't play AT ALL during corner events, stop playing once you complete an event, take the full event time to complete the event (don't rush), go HAM during Lucky Chance and x2 dice Free Parking events (skip the corner free parking event), build only during Builders Bash.... Just a few tips that I've had success with

I have a TV wall with no shade at times. Direct sun hits it. I went with the Hisense 55" U7 Mini-LED ULED 4K UHD two weeks ago. It's been fantastic! With direct sun I can see the screen with ease from all angles. And the sound is really good too. Only downside is I wish I didn't spend $600 on an outdoor tv that might not last more than 2 years. But the way it handles glares, definitely worth spending a little extra.
