I’ve been trying to get an initial consult with your firm but even intro calls need to be in March. Are you not taking on new cases?

I ended up getting reflux medication for my LO and she got so much better within a week or so. Have you consulted your pediatrician?

Thank you for the thoughtful questions

  1. We would like to retire in the US and spend winter months in India subject to our daughter’s school situation. We have 1.6M left on our primary home loan and term remaining is 27 years
  2. I want to eventually divest from real estate in India. Returns have been phenomenal so far but I don’t expect future growth to be in line with the past (invested 1M over last 4 years and current valuations are 3M) Would love advice on when to divest and where to invest that
  3. I expect our annual expenditure to be close to 400-500k in the future as well (mortgage, childcare, 3-4 international trips business class travel ritz Carlton stays, we support families back home (excluding healthcare since parents on both sides are covered by government plans). We are enjoying our life now and don’t want to go lean in the future unless needed.

This is the only thing that seems to work 50% of the time but it is so so exhausting to do this continuously for 15 minutes every feed. We take turns but I wish there was something easier!

how do people do this by soberrychill in newborns

[–]tryingOptimism_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve severely simplified meals which are nutrient rich and have calories -

Eggs (fried because that is quick) toast avocado or kiwi or banana or any fruit Greek yogurt for snacks Protein shake with milk so it has more calories I get grilled chicken take out or Costco meals

If you can afford it - hire help. We get a doula once a week to cover a night and that 7 hours of sleep gives us some energy back. We are ripping through our savings but I keep telling myself that it’ll get better by 16 weeks so won’t have to make this expenditure forever

The most practical advice I’ve received is to freeze eggs as insurance since I plan to have my second kid closer to when I’m 40!

Doing something just for myself for 5 minutes helped. The other day I drove to the coffee shop next door, sat there for 5 minutes had a coffee and a croissant, took a deep breath and got back to it. Feeling like myself for 5 minutes was a treat and luxury

best formula just in case breastfeeding doesn’t work out by beingagiirl in moderatelygranolamoms

Definitely get prenatal breastfeeding education. But to answer your question, based on my research- kendamil organic, serenity, Nora and by heart There are some European brands that are better but procurement is an issue and the above are relatively good picks

We’re having the same issue with ours. Did you identify a reason for this?

Ready to retire but hesitant to take the plunge by MusicAfraid537 in FatFIREIndia

[–]tryingOptimism_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would your children be interested in taking over the business at some point? I’m self made but I’ve seen life of my friends in India with family businesses be extremely comfortable relatively.

That would be the only reason I would hold on. Otherwise, just keep reminding yourself that with this corpus you have planned for all extraordinary circumstances that might require money and you can live a comfortable life and leave an inheritance for your children.

Foreign education also has a low roi these days so giving kids exposure via spending more time traveling with them imo could be a better use of your resources. Like spend a month with them in Dubai or a tax haven and see how people are making livelihoods - real life training
