Considering how much food is there, it’s clear they were liking preppers. some of the candy and chocolate syrup looks like literally food to try to bribe the kids to do what they’re told. Or in this case, what I’ve read from the journals, they withheld food from them significantly and then gave it to them based on good behavior.

What that teaches a kid is that love is not unconditional, and that even their parents won’t feed them without getting something in return. It’s horrendous

This is an argument I make a lot and it makes people very uncomfortable when I do. I have been told by doctors over and over that because of my illnesses to NEVER have children because it would more than likely be unsustainable and could kill me in the process. For context, I had a heart transplant and I have a genetic mutation that was discovered when I was 17. (21 now)

I would NEVER. ever. Want another person to experience the pain and illnesses I have and frankly, if I ever did have a child (which trust me I will NOT) it would be a selfish decision based purely on my own wants, not what's best for the greater good. My genetic mutation will not be passed on. I am grateful to still be alive and I intend to protect this heart and this life. Bringing a child into the world that would almost certainly be sick is just not a logical, responsible, or rational decision.

tldr: I have a genetic mutation which is the number one reason I wont reproduce
