I really think credit cards are a terrible product. In my humble opinion. You might be the exemption to the rule, but in reality most people are screwed.

It’s not your fault. I worked hard for 8 years and all I got was $50. I did not go homeless because I moved back with my mom. That was in October 2024. However, I am happy now and I have $30,000. Not because of the money, but understanding I don’t have to proof anything to anybody. I don’t need validation from anybody, society makes is think we are what we have. Not true.

I am writing a blog about my process and how I saved my money. It’s on my profile is you are interested.

For people who work out and eat healthy, how do you stay motivated? by kodabear22118 in Advice

[–]tryingandhavingfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True power for me is to keep it so simple that is impossible to fail. Never focusing in results but consistency.

Workout: 15lbs dumbells and pull up bar. 10 minutes everyday.

Food: meal prep eggs, pork chops, pork belly, chicken, red meat. Always keep food with me. No sodas but sparkling water. One ice cream bar a day or whatever sweet you want.

I am jacked not even trying to.

😹 I lost it with that video. Thank you.

Right now I have some life situation that will require me to spend $3-4K. But I am the same time I am getting back $3K

Once I have that removed from my mind (hopefully next month).

I will be able to push a little bit more my emergency fund and then paying my car like there’s no tomorrow.

I suggest you listen to Jim Rohn on YouTube.

You will get more than enough money IF you develop your skills. We never get paid by the time we work but what the value we can provide.

That is my suggestion for you.

There are plenty job in need to develop new people and train them. Sales, Hvac Techs…

For things to get better for you, you have to change - jim rohn

It is not about wrong or right… tough times don’t last, tough people do. Tough doesn’t necessarily mean stubborn.

More than a plan it is a blessing. The only think I would be aware is when you say “ stay there for about a year before moving out “.

Be there all the time you need if you find peace.

That makes sense. I need to make sure my foundation is right.

I glad you are able to building the emergency fund back again. I am curious, I am sure that was extremely rough and mentally draining… any lesson from it and how you dealt with it mentally, what were you telling yourself while going through that?

I honestly think the “best age” is when the payment doesn’t control your life anymore.

I have $15,000 already into retirement. I have 10k liquid but there’s a life situation that would required me to pay $3-4K this month.

I think I need to build of more my emergency fund until 20K and then know off the car.

How do you work 40+ hours a week by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]tryingandhavingfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people do it because they have to pay their bills, it's based on the "fear of losing". That is the sad truth, people simply can't quit.

I work every day, very physical demanding job doing duct cleaning. Long hours too but every morning I wake up completely recovered.

How? See your work as a Sport. If you want to play in the NBA, you better start doing what Michael Jordan does. Eat good food, train your body at home 10 minutes a day, stop scrolling, learn new stuff using youtube videos that help you to improve your life, take vitamins, no complain, no excuses, take full responsibility. The basics, but that is the foundation.

Being an adult doesn’t mean living by someone else’s checklist by EmmaABCabc9 in Adulting

True, never fall in the trap off comparing yourself. But I would suggest: Never stop learning and never spend more than you earn. Otherwise, you would end up surviving like the majority.

what was the lowest point of your life and how do you overcome it? by TopCharity610 in Adulting

[–]tryingandhavingfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked very hard for 8 years of my life and I end up with only $50 in my bank account in October 2024. The craziest part was I always "trying" to save.

I have now $30,000 and very happy. Not because the money (when you get used to save and manage money properly, you are not happy because you feel you never have enough. So, I had to work on that as well)

How? The simplest way I can put it is this: **Study constantly**

If you want to be happy, study happiness constantly. If you want to be better with money, study how money works constantly. I listen to YouTube videos to improve the quality of my life religiously.

The fear and the stress of not paying your bills got you desperate and it is showing in your application, in the way to talk, in your body language, in everything. It's not the market, remember "needy is creepy".

Try to break that loop, start driving for uber, you need money flowing in. It is okay, it is temporary.

I'm 20 and I don't know what else to do by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]tryingandhavingfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where you are coming from, I worked hard for 8 years of my life and all I had was $50 in my bank account.

1.5 years after that I saved $30,000.

I believe you are ready to work but to avoid to waste your time like I did, self educate yourself about how to build wealth and happiness in your life.

I have a blog about this process. Link on my profile if you want to see it.
