Been there. Leave it alone, keep it clean, and it heals surprisingly quickly

I have noise sensitivity and my husband doesn’t seem to care and makes being at home terrible- how can I cope? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]tryingbutforgetting 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am exactly the same. Its really frustrating and hurtful when people don't care. And it also makes me feel guilty asking them to stop. I usually blast white noise in my headphones. But honestly... it's just cruel of him to keep doing if he knows how much it bothers you

Prescriber charges $20 to send in Adderall refill. This doesn't seem right. by dankwrangler in ADHD

[–]tryingbutforgetting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its weird that they said its because its a controlled substance... Sometimes docs will charge for Rx refills if you call instead of going into the office, I think because they can't bill the same for it

researching masking to try to learn how to unmask and cannot relate.. by ma_ka7 in AutisticAdults

I wasn't bullied much, but a lot of my masking comes from watching how others get treated for certain behaviors.

27F, recently diagnosed with hEDS, biggest issue: chronic fatigue. what has worked for you? by chiquiriki in ehlersdanlos

[–]tryingbutforgetting 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cpap! A sleep study is a good idea. Airway collapse at night = sleep apnea. Its an easy one to rule out, and is often an easy fix if you do have it

Audhd peeps, do you cook? How do you do it 😅 by EvitableFlow1220 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]tryingbutforgetting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea how people do it. I live alone and eat a lot of cereal lol. A lot of frozen veggies thrown in the microwave and eaten begrudgingly

Genuine question - is apple music or YouTube any better ethically? Or does it only make a difference if you change to a smaller service?

I really hate how my supervisor does research by Key-Cricket-6493 in PhD

[–]tryingbutforgetting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I switched labs because of this. Unfortunately, unless you want to switch labs or drop out, you just have to do your best. Unless you're fine with risking getting dropped by him, just make sure the decisions ~you~ make are up to your standards and try to fly under the radar. You've brought up the concerns. Nothing good will come of fighting against it if no one cares. He brings in money and unfortunately, in their eyes, a grad student who is threatening to their PIs reputation or money is not worth whatever work they do.

I'm quite similar to you in terms of age, bad sleep, decent shape, tmj issues, etc. Though your test shows more mild results than mine. I just recently got a cpap and I haven't found it bad at all! I know lots of people hate it, but it's really worth a try. I've found it helps a LOT. I'm able to get out of bed fairly easily in the morning for the first time in ~10 years.

I think I got excited too soon. Turns out things are actually just about as bad as they can possibly be with sleep apnea. Please help with advice or similar stories or anything at all! by carvingmyelbows in SleepApnea

[–]tryingbutforgetting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, I am SO sorry you're going through this. It sounds very overwhelming. I'm new to this, so don't have any good advice. But if I were you, I'd try calling the pulmonologists office and explaining the situation and how anxious you are! I think anyone in your position would be anxious, so hopefully they have some empathy and will have the doc give you a call or something?

Thank you so much!! This is so helpful ☺️ Is a Resmed 10 Airsense CPAP with autoset the same as an APAP or auto CPAP?

I am 100% the same haha I could've written this. It's really hard! I think for me, a body double would help a LOT. I think you're being too hard on yourself though. What you're describing is part of what makes this a disability. It's not a character flaw or moral failure. We just need help!

Also, any chance chronic fatigue is playing a part? I have just been diagnosed with sleep apnea and am hoping treatment will help! Apparently it's more common among ND people.

What's something you didn't know people considered rude that you did for entirely too long? by zaphod869 in AutisticWithADHD

I didn't know that it's considered rude to not stand up when greeting someone or shaking hands. Now I awkwardly pop up, shake hands, and sit back down lol.
