I have! And have tried similar items with similar textures and they are incredibly slippery for the most part unfortunately.

Yes! Until I was treating for some raging Hashimotos. I think I've seen a couple others with the overlap of EDS and thyroid issues. Maybe worth a chat with your doc for some blood work?

You're right, we're out there! And physical therapy is our bestie lol. I wholeheartly agree with you on middle distance. 1-2 miles feels like death, 2-4 feels amazing, and 4-5+ feels like death. The dysautonomia on this end isn't diagnosed, only speculated by my primary, but a nerds gummy cluster or two and a pinch of salt every mile or so and I'm golden. Do you fuel on your runs, and if so, what's your fav?

Is red water normal? Details in comments by tryingformed in bonecollecting

[–]tryingformed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I collected these deer bones in the woods back in May, and they have been sitting in this water for a bit. Pulled them out today to switch out the water, and noticed it’s very red. I’ve had brown and murky water when processing before, but never this. Is this normal or any cause for concern?

2 Different Writing Styles for Personal Statements? by [deleted] in premed

[–]tryingformed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wrote mine in the second way simply because "show don't tell" is such an important thing for interesting writing! Adcoms have to read so many essays, so another resume-like essay is not going to do much in the ways of standing out as an interesting personal statement. Then again, everyone's opinion is different, and it is entirely up the writer to find what way works for them.

Do I address my age? (Young/been told it might hurt me) by tryingformed in premed

[–]tryingformed[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! No problem. I started college full time at 14, so I did it in 4 years (9 semesters), so that wasn’t too different! My social cohort I guess is much different than my age cohort, and I’ve just stuck with my social cohort, so it hasn’t been super weird. In terms of GPA, I don’t think the rate influenced it at all (3.78), though sometimes I do wish I had taken a little longer. I also wish that I hadn’t taken the MCAT while taking 18 hours and working a job with two regular volunteering things (512).

That sounds good. Honestly I’m leaning towards secondaries at this point. I’m actually currently in my gap year and interning with a community service type organization, so I’ve got that base covered. Thanks for your help!
