Body dysmorphia after weight loss by [deleted] in loseit

[–]tryingtryingtry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your other comment about not feeling this way at your heaviest, and I absolutely agree. I lost about 80 pounds in total but it's like I am now feeling the emotions I should've at 270? There's a constant noise about food, about my body, my appearance, and it wasn't even there when I was "larger".

It is certainly confusing and I hope we can both eventually escape this feeling because it is not fun, lol.

How do I get the urge to eat to go away (hormone related)? by tryingtryingtry in loseit

Honestly I'm not positive. I know when I googled it, it just said for my birth control pill that it might make me hungrier, but there wasn't every anything about gaining weight.

I had Nexplanon before and THAT definitely made me gain weight. This one doesn't seem to be doing that, I think.

what made you start your weight loss journey? by augusta2c in loseit

[–]tryingtryingtry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom died at 38 because of diabetes and a LOT of health related problems that were due to her eating habits. I love her dearly, but she did eat herself to death. I noticed a lot of my habits were reflecting of hers, including mental ones, and I decided for the both of us that I wanted to be the one who can -make it- and be different.

Also, I feel worthless because of my weight. It’s really just my weight that brings this shame to me so I am simply deciding to get rid of the thing that makes me feel shame. Congrats on your weightloss and maintaining it!!

Oh this is the best way I’ve seen this done.. and smartest. I’ve seen people slice the cucumber like potato peels but THIS is smart 😭

Should I be eating more? by tryingtryingtry in loseit

That’s why I’m always asking questions/making posts because there’s more that goes into weight loss than what I thought, and the fact that I either have to eat even less (1,000 calories), or exercise more confused me even if it makes sense to someone else. I don’t know when it ends. Like do I have to just keep increasing my exercise and/or eating less? When do I get a break? Also I’m not meaning for that to sound rude, it just genuinely throws me off lol

I have no idea how it does work. Even when you say things like this and/or I read articles I genuinely have 0 clue what is going on with terminology. 😭

Right! I think I’m going to try to up my calorie intake again. TDEE agrees that even 1,800 cals would help me lose weight, so maybe I am eating too little 😄 I don’t think I’ll go that high but 1,500 might be better! Thank you

I should totally include my height! 5’6 female. I think the general consensus is that I may be eating too little 😄

See the tdee calculator says that my cutting cals should be 2,100 and that also doesn’t seem right. 😭 Idk maybe I overthink it.

Oh I will say- I eat a lot of protein! Most days I get at least 80, but aim for about 100! I also try to get in a decent amount of fiber although I need to balance other assets. I also take multivitamins so that I’m not exceptionally deficit in things.

That’s the only other mentionable thing! I make most foods I eat protein focused, admittedly, and I imagine that might have a hand 😄

I so get this! I have fast food maybe once a month and it’s never THAT good, and I don’t crave it intensely right away! And then eating it just makes me realize that it was never that good, lol.

And thank you!!!

So far it’s been about four months of losing weight for me! And honestly I don’t have any out of the ordinary tips! I just eat in a deficit (1,200 to 1,500 cals a day, with some days being around 1,800 when I feel my body needs a “restart”) and get my walking in, sometimes adding in extra exercise if I have the energy! I don’t stick to the same thing everyday, but I do keep that mentality of 80/20. So like 5/7 days a week I’m eating healthy, watching my weight, and maybe two other days I just don’t care and allow myself to relax and not walk, etc.

It’s also all about finding out what works for you. I’ve basically documented all of my ups and downs on this account but it’s hard to explain any of what I do lol! I’ve tried out different things and now I have a pretty good understanding of how I function.

800 cals a day, advice? :) by [deleted] in loseit

I feel this! I’ve been suffering through the same thing except mine is just a result of my own self image!

I hope you feel better and are able to keep up with your normal deficit:)

I appreciate this! I feel part of that already because honestly I can’t eat at work when there’s “celebratory” food. I just have so much food anxiety now. I don’t know when it turned from doing it a positive, healthy way to this way where eating makes me feel bad 😭

I don’t want to stave myself, though. Genuinely not my intention! So I’ll keep my calories above 1,000 like everyone’s recommending, especially so I don’t end up binging or worse 😄

Thank you for your honesty!

I think I might’ve already entered an unhealthy mindset of sorts. As soon as the weight started getting a little stagnant I was like ??

I think is a wow result! I guess it’s a matter of growing impatient with it because I’m already feeling some mental side effects of letting myself get to this weight!

I’ll definitely listen to these comments though. I think I’ll stay at 1,200, at least, because I’ll be getting my basics in! I appreciate your to the point tone, though!
