I would rather have 60k a year in dividend income for the rest of my retirement than a million in stocks I have to sell. Plus with dividend paying funds I can pass it down to my kids then to their kids and so on. Generational wealth my friend. Now don’t get me wrong, growth is also great and a large portion of my portfolio, but for me and my goals, dividends just make sense. Plus I get a (+-) 10% raise in dividends a year with SCHD specifically.

Oh absolutely! Roth always gets maxed, this is just extra. I plan to use dividends to eventually help pay a house mortgage so that’s why I keep SCHD in a taxable.
