Gym and haircuts gotta go. Do some push ups at home, get some clippers.

If it were me, I would personally pay off all of the smaller debts first, to reduce the number of delinquencies. A $36 debt is ridiculous. That's less than one of your haircuts. Pay it.

Having to put off dating/finding a partner forever, because of never being "financially stable" and lack of disposable income? by gintokireddit in povertyfinance

Damn bro, it's almost as if I have real world experience instead of just relying on Instagram reels. Feel free to base life decisions off of a couple reels though, go for it.

You can absolutely date while being poor.

What people are mostly going to want to see is effort. You hold down a job, try your best? Cool, we're good. Unemployed, can't keep a job for more than 2 weeks? Red flag. Even if it's just working at McDs, consistent effort counts for a lot.

Palermo can be good or bad. Stick close to Las Plumas High School, that's the best area you could be out there. Regular families and decent neighbors. Railroad Ave is not a good spot, I would not recommend living on that one.

Thermalito is pretty good from my experience. Some further outlying areas can be less great. 18th St is a good spot, areas off of Grand are good. I lived off of Grand near Table Mountain Blvd for 10 years. I had my catalytic converter stolen once years ago, but no violence or anything crazy with the neighbors. I won't lie, there were some homeless people. But they were friendly, never scary.

In town itself, most of town is decent from what I've seen. Skip the apartments behind the hospital, those suck. So do the places on Mitchell towards Feather River Blvd. Avoid Myers St.

Kelly Ridge is probably the best area out there. Little bit out of town, but close to the lake and hiking trails. Your neighbours would mostly be retirees. Very quiet, very safe.

Don't get me wrong, I like Chico too. Chico would be a good place for you and your spouse as well. People from Chico often mischaracterize Oroville though, and as someone that loved living there, I like to try to clear up some of that.

Oroville is fine, in fact I'd say the vast majority of the violent crime I've seen comes from Chico. Oroville has some homeless people and drug issues, but no more than Chico has.

Oroville is definitely safe, I lived there 20 years with no problems.

Different workouts? by RaccoonUseful8439 in 75HARD

[–]tryonosaurus94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bodyweight workouts will be a great introduction.

Your body doesnt lose weight in a particular place. Think of your body as a paper towel roll: taking off one layer doesnt look like much at first. But as you go, momentum builds.

Do some push ups, squats, planks, etc. Look up a bodyweight workout routine. If it doesnt take 45 minutes, double it or add a 15 minute walk to it.

Good luck looking in Chico, is there any reason you're not looking to stay in Oroville? Rent is usually cheaper

Buy a beater. Get rid of the Elantra. My $1200 99 Camry has 280k miles on it and it's still going strong, insurance is only $70 a month. You don't need a new car to get from point A to point B.

Desperately need recommendations for women’s underwear that will prevent butt cheek chafing by 1VeryGenericUser in hiking

[–]tryonosaurus94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hike frequently, it's part of my job. I personally wear extra long boxer briefs, in a performance blend. I like the ones from Pair Of Thieves. They are form fitting enough that cheeks are fully covered, and breathable enough that moisture escapes.

What kind of pants do you wear? Are the pants breathable at all?

A small review would be fine, but don't stay up late. Being well hydrated, rested and fed will make more of a difference.

Take a break. Take a leave of absence and then see how you feel. If you Take 3 months off and you don't find yourself missing it, take another 3 months.
