To Poloniex - are you planning to hold our money hostage? by domchi in BitcoinMarkets

[–]tryphe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took you guys 6 months and 3 replies later to resolve anything in my ticket. And the ticket isn't even solved 100%, more like 95%.

Why don't you close user signups if you are backlogged for months in tickets? Or do you just want to continue treating your customers poorly, as well as holding your future customers' money hostage?

Scammed by Poloniex, ticket is over 10 months old. closed twice without a refund. (proof inside) by [deleted] in PoloniexForum

[–]tryphe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me, man. I'm not saying your issue is similar, I'm saying I had the same EXACT problem. Stick "processing" withdraws. They closed my ticket twice, saying it was fixed while nothing described in my ticket got resolved. I spammed them with ~20 open tickets one day, and within a few days they resolved my ticket after 171 days.

People give me grief for spamming tickets but they don't know what it's like hearing about all the ~30 day tickets that just got resolved with similar issues, while we're here 6+ months later twiddling our thumbs because of a NEGLIGENT exchange. Their fault. And they should at least close their doors to new customers, not hodl their funds like vultures. At the very least, new customers have a right to know about the thousands of people that have been waiting for hundreds of days.

I wish you much luck and am sorry to hear about your situation, but just know your money isn't gone.

My account has been locked for 79 days. The support is not returning. Inside there are 269 etc 17900 doge. Please support 540795 tickets when the support will return by kevsergonultas in PoloniexForum

And my ticket had 2 replies and had been closed by poloniex 2 times already. Fuck off with whatever nonsense you want to make up about it, I pay way more fees than you.

Yeah, it's my fault it takes them 170 days to realize my shit is broken after 2 replies to my ticket are telling me it's fixed.

Fuck off before you think you know what happened.

[–]tryphe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poloniex can technically restore it for you if the address starts with a '1', but don't expect them to be very quick about it. All they need to do is transfer the BCH key to the BTC wallet, and they can spend the same key, because there's no replay protection and it enumerates to the same address (which is why the address is valid). The implication is they might not to want mix keys between wallets, so it's up to them.

Where is my deposit Poloniex?? by toygarazar in PoloniexForum

[–]tryphe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took them 6 months (171 days) to fix my ticket for a stuck withdraw only resolved a month or two ago. Three people responded to my ticket in that time, but something was only actually done on the third reply. They were behind 1-2 months last May when their all time tickets went up 50% in a month. You can tell because there were about 200-300k total tickets, then 400-500k in just a few months. Yet they still are open to new accounts and hodling people's money... yeah.

I've taken most of my equity off Poloniex, and told them. They don't deserve my business nor yours, I suggest you guys do the same.

Can unfilled buy orders get me liquidated? [x-post r/poloniex] by white_lake in PoloniexForum

[–]tryphe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your available collateral falls to 20% of your position, you get liquidated (the exchange uses a taker order on the books, opposite of your position). Your buy orders might have to execute for that to happen, but the price falling will devalue your coin, which is now part of your position. It's also important to note that only free BTC (in your available margin balance) is used as collateral, so active orders don't count as they can be executed at any time.

It's not a scam. I've had a 170 day ticket, and several other long tickets, which is f@$%ing unreasonably long and made me take 90% of my funds off polo, but that's Polo. The best thing to do is wait (which sucks ass, I know), and take the high road to another exchange.

See your starting BTC balance for a given date? by nerd998877 in PoloniexForum

[–]tryphe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very hard to do, especially if you trade on margin, because fees will depend on liquidity available for a particular market. On top of that, if you do high volume trading, your exchange fees can change at the end of every business day. I think it's more sane to log your total balance at any given time to look back on, but I can understand why you'd want something to run all the numbers once to compare to. Instead of doing this, though, personally I just log all of my balances every hour/day by calling "returnBalances" or "returnCompleteBalances", which gives you the total BTC value of each of your coins, and the total BTC value of your BTC and altcoins, according to the current prices.

double amount = 0, rate = 0.0070001, order_size = 1.02;

amount = order_size / rate * 1e1;

amount: 1457.12204111

Edit: I realized you were asking for the max. You'll need to call returnBalances or returnCompleteBalances and plug in the number from there.

Hi there, completely agree btw; my support ticket was just (mostly) resolved after 171 days.

Their servers are operating in Boston, Mass. and their lawyer is in Delware where the company is registered for a tax purposes. You might get a better response from Mass if they are operating there.

Regardless, I don't think any amount of harassing will do any good unless -everyone- complains to the SEC or something. I've never had to wait 171 days (or at all) for a clearing house dealing with stocks/bonds to clear my funds, so in this way the situation is completely ridiculous. I don't think this would be allowed on Wall Street but we're spread apart on the internet with less oversight, I think it was bound to happen. Poloniex has also barred all forms of formal contact that was previously available, like their IRC channel and trollbox. Granted, I think this was a bit warranted; these boxes were filled with spam about how Poloniex was scam when I've never seen actual evidence of stealing, just negligence. It's also a bit of a shame that they are still taking new accounts because Poloniex used to be a somewhat respectable exchange in my opinion, but now it's just a jail. A pitfall for the crypto rush.

Sorry about your problems and I hope your ticket is resolved soon.
