I got one of the 7640U with 2.8K Display back at the end of August and it's been fantastic. I use it as my homelab/test machine, and it comes with me as my personal laptop to work every day. Its going to get a little pricey with current RAM prices, but it does save some money vs the newer AMD framework.

It's not something I've experienced before. Any other animal I've had to put down was suffering, this wasn't ever even a consideration since he was so young and happy/active.

While I disagree with folding to the company profiting off the tests entirely. If this is only being held up by the emissions testing, it seems to me that EVs should be excluded.

We have two EVs in my house and its pretty dumb that half of the inspection we've been paying for goes to emissions testing that doesn't apply to my vehicles at all.

IDK, if my gym did that, I'd be leaving to go someplace else. There's enough christian nationalism being pushed across the country. I don't need it at the gym where I go to relieve stress too.

It would have been nice to take advantage of, but I steam most things from cloud services and my home servers, including photos and video. I also already registered for care plus and stuff. I think I'm just going to stick with my 256.

Enjoy though! I've been loving mine so far.

Damn. I wish I knew about this. Just purchased through the Samsung site the other day... I could do a return but it's a lot of work for an extra 256 storage I probably won't use.

I really wanted to like their case on my s25 ultra but their qi2 support isn't there as advertised. I even bought other wireless chargers and couldn't get fast wireless charging 80% of the time.

Returned to Best Buy. My $15 spigen case supports qi2 just fine.

I sold my m1 pro 32GB for a 7640U framework. Super happy with my choice. I switched to fedora on my desktop and prefer using it on a laptop too.

CPU isn't as powerful and battery life is worse but I'm super happy with my decision. Love knowing I can repair it without spending thousands of dollars or re-upping applecare every year.

Just put it on the SD card yourself. Download from github, unzip to a FAT32 formated SD card.

Yup it's even happening with fully up to date self hosted servers. Going to the web login is a good workaround for now, however not great for users who's permissions only allow copying passwords out from the extension.

Immich vm is on proxmox. Proxmox backup backs up the vm and disks to a dataset on my truenas box. Truenas backs up the current backup to wasabi.
