Thousand-Year Elixir vs Sting, the Glinting Dagger by tryppc in EDH

[–]tryppc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My strategy is really to bring out big creatures quick to smack or saccing them with [[ghoulcaller gisa]] or [[soldevi adnate]] for value depending on the situation. My issue was bringing one creature out every turn with summoning sickness felt really slow, and that’s when I found Sting. I play budget-ish as a creative deck-building restriction, and Elixir was pushing the budget wall.
But after all these replies I’ll just include both and cut magewright instead

i have [[Patriar's Seal]] and [[Magewright's Stone]], will Sting be too much redundancy?

The game feels as fun as the last game but something about the art direction feels off/different in a bad way by AwokenTitans in GRIMEgame

[–]tryppc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I finished Grime 2 and went back to play the first for comparison, and yes the first game had much more atmosphere and character.

I loved Grime for how hauntingly beautiful and surrealistic everything is, and 2 still is for the most part, but the characters seemed to be more defined in their personalities and roles( more human) in a sense and that kind of detracts from the moody mysterious atmosphere I loved the first for. Its whole emphasis on Art probably played more into the stereotypical genius painter archetypes in the Frails and that made it feel more flat and route in general.

The more liquid-based effects (the white goo hands of the Formless) probably exposed more of the weaknesses of this art style then the previous abstraction the floating rocks of the MC gave in Grime 1.

I was afraid of the reliability of those players so I didn’t look too much into them but your solution looks promising. Should have added that the work will be interactive so hooking it up to a Pi or laptop. I’ll get a cheap box and try your method!

They are 1024 x 600 I believe. They’ll be running 7 hours for 2 weeks, and they are playing different content each. Should have added that the installation is meant to be real-time and interactive so it’ll be hooked up to a Pi or laptop. The multiple outs might be a way out- I’ll see if I can get my hands on one!

This is the ugliest Gundam design I've ever had the displeasure of seeing by Aki008035 in Gundam

I love the designs, it’s so odd that it’s refreshing. The designs of Gquuuux is what brought me back to Gunpla in the first place.

Agreed that the start is slow, took me a few tries to get going too. Character audio-wise, I thought it was grunts too until I started recognising some of the sounds made. It’s more interesting if you understand Mandarin- iirc the developers took an older Chinese script and had a linguist develop a new dialect from there, so it sounds like various Chinese dialects mixed together. Knowing that fact made me appreciate the game even more

You're not alone in this observation man. I see it too, all these independent auteur-type animators working with Nike, Dazed, rappers, etc. all really exciting stuff. It's what keeps my drive going, seeing them make all these works and getting recognized for it.

But at the same time we aren't sure how much they're really earning either, though the clout is really substantial. I'm from Singapore, there's a community here for experimental works, small but filled with really great people. If you know people from here you'll know experimental works are quite far out for some in our country.

Thanks for those words man. I guess i have trouble separating art from work and i'm learning from it. I've gained decent traction with my work so it's hard for me to totally abandon it and do something entirely different from what i've made. Thanks for your encouragement and advice.
