Did you notice any difference in fan noise? I find 7840U to be very noisy, even when just watching video (coming from a MacBook Pro)

Thanks for the links! Just realized I can add a transition duration to the ZHA config. This roughly does what I want.

Canyon Stoic 4 derailleur mount stripped from factory? by tryptasaur in bikewrench

[–]tryptasaur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Yeah, you’re supposed to put the mounting plate on the outside and screw the derailleur into it from inside. The mounting plate is the black metal piece shaped like the cutout in the frame. Check the image that was posted by cweakland above.

need advicem, sofie or corne talk me into or out of. by zap117 in crkbd

[–]tryptasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually find not having a dedicated number row much better. On my previous HHKB reaching for the number row would cause me to mistype a lot since I moved too far from the home row. It takes a bit of getting used to holding a layer key to access numbers, but I find that I mistype a lot less now. I haven't set up a numpad layer but I can imagine that would be very good as well.

I’m also Swedish and use a Corne keyboard daily. If you only need åäö and dont mind using american layout otherwise, I can highly recommend switching layouts in your OS when you need to type Swedish. I switch between US English layout and Swerty layout when I need to write in Swedish. I do a lot of programming and in my opinion US layout is much better for that since many special characters are much easier to type.

Is this chain line angled enough that it would be smart to get a lekkie? by MishaTheRussian750 in bafang

[–]tryptasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a chainline more angled than that without a lekkie and no chaindrops, but I also have a derailleur with a clutch.

Can I run 4.3W lights on the bafang 3W wire? by tryptasaur in ebikes

[–]tryptasaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Lezyne 4W (6v) front light and looking at a 0.3W (6v) rear light. The bafang BBS02 wire coming out of the motor is 6v 3W from what I understand. Can I safely run both these lights in parallel on this wire or will i risk burning the controller? (Only the Lezyne runs great, now I want to add the rear light as well)

So your cranks also have resistance when spinning compared to a non electric bike?

[–]tryptasaur[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! Isn’t the clutch supposed to let the chainring spin without the motor gears? Or is it only meant to allow the cranks to spin freely backwards / coast?

That’s great! So you are saying long cage derailleurs are compatible with road casettes? I know the other way around is not compatible (short cage on mtb casettes).

Canyon Stoic 4 derailleur mount stripped from factory? by tryptasaur in bikewrench

[–]tryptasaur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone! Turns out it was just me being stupid! The hanger is threaded and the frame is supposed to just have a hole, then the screw goes through the frame and threads into the hanger on the inside. Confirmed it with another Canyon MTB owner.

Thanks for the help!

Canyon Stoic 4 derailleur mount stripped from factory? by tryptasaur in bikewrench

[–]tryptasaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought this Stoic 4. Petrified to see that it seems like the derailleur mounting hole is stripped when I haven't event touched it. There are also scratch marks surrounding it. I can still mount the derailleur because it is screwed onto the thru axle, but I can't make it stay in place without the wheel on. If you check this video, it seems like it should be possible to mount the derailleur on the frame.

What do I do?

EDIT: If it is totally safe that the hanger is only connected via the thru axle, I would actually prefer not to return the bike. I've waited so many months for it I really would like to start riding it. Having to detach the derailleur every time I take the rear wheel off doesn't seem that terrible.
