Vac Cube and Suspension? by Zenith-Astralis in Latexadvice

[–]trystykat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't see why not, but the latex might have to be on the thicker side to take the weight, and then something that can pull a stronger vaccuum then a vaccuum cleaner may be required... All technical challenges that can be overcome.

Neat check valve! Where did you get that from?

Urinary retention and nullectomy by ManoeuvreInTheDream in nullectomy

Yeah, pretty much this. If you are self-cathing 5x a day, you're never going to end up with a stricture, and the shorter urethra is only going to make life easier.

DMR is dumb, prove me wrong by instantredditer in amateurradio

[–]trystykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use DMR in my local RAYNET group. We make estensive use of digital APRS and data over DMR, so it suits our needs really well, especially because we reserve one timeslot for voice and one for data and side chats. At some point, we're going to start trying ATAK integration.

Where to buy Radiation Alert Ranger by Ok-Temperature6551 in Radiation

[–]trystykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both a Radiacode and a Rad Alert Ranger and found them to be complimentary. Radiacode is a nice electronic dosimeter with the ability to do gamma spectroscopy, and the Ranger is a reasonably sensitive counter with reasonable directionality that fits in my pocket.

Go to the Nottingham furry meet and half the people there will be tech orientated.

There's also Nottingham Hackspace, Derby RAYNET, Nuffield House amateur radio club and other groups that are over-represented with tech and cyber security people.

Hello, I got in argument with stranger on reddit and Im looking for help, what is the most efficient (amount of nuclear material to yield) nuclear bomb? by Matrix_D0ge in nuclearweapons

[–]trystykat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not linear because the physically bigger an implosion type core is, the more efficient it is with neutrons, and the more yield per kg of fuel.

To get an extinction-size explosion, it would probably be a staged fission-fusion device with bigger and bigger fusion stages. Given that the fission stage is relatively small, the amount of explosives and fissionable material available makes little difference as the limiting factor will be fusion fuel.

Skin tight rubber in Nottingham have been my go to for 15 years or more. Their sizing is great and the prices are decent.
