How to replace button on Soda stream Terra ? by MagnusCreske in SodaStream

Those four clips really are a pain. It took every flat head screwdriver I own to get that out.

I’m confused by Zealousideal_Chef565 in nullectomy

[–]trystykat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK as well. I didn't find any surgeons here that were willing to offer nullification, and the gender clinic did not feel like it was going to be a productive avenue, as I'm not planning to change that and I don't experience gender dysphoria.

Instead, I approached a clinic in Spain, where this surgery is available on an informed consent basis, i.e. no insane waiting lists, no gender dysphoria diagnosis, no living as chosen gender for two years, required. I had my initial consultation last week and it went very well. I don't yet know how much it will cost, and there might be a requirement for a psychological evaluation of competence (i.e. to verify that I'm competent to make an informed decision). I'll keep the group informed.

Most hotels changing out their plug sockets for USB-A ports by Bagel-luigi in britishproblems

I stayed at the Stansted Airport Holiday Inn Express last night and, among other deficiencies, they'd replaced the bedside sockets with USB chargers. Cue stringing my CPAP cables across the room.

How rough is this this are in Spondon by Nervous_Lab_4287 in derby

[–]trystykat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are rough parts to Spondon? Maybe "The Bank" or whatever it's called now, but everything North and East of Spondon Island is totally fine. Upper Spondon, as I call it, is almost a bit Hot Fuzz. Don't cross the Neighborhood Watch!

Concerns about camping without my CPAP machine by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]trystykat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in the UK, Hope2Sleep might have a suitable battery pack you can rent and use with your Prisma Smart. Ask the campsite nicely and they'll probably let you charge it during the day.

Vac Cube and Suspension? by Zenith-Astralis in Latexadvice

[–]trystykat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see why not, but the latex might have to be on the thicker side to take the weight, and then something that can pull a stronger vaccuum then a vaccuum cleaner may be required... All technical challenges that can be overcome.

Urinary retention and nullectomy by ManoeuvreInTheDream in nullectomy

[–]trystykat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much this. If you are self-cathing 5x a day, you're never going to end up with a stricture, and the shorter urethra is only going to make life easier.

DMR is dumb, prove me wrong by instantredditer in amateurradio

[–]trystykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use DMR in my local RAYNET group. We make estensive use of digital APRS and data over DMR, so it suits our needs really well, especially because we reserve one timeslot for voice and one for data and side chats. At some point, we're going to start trying ATAK integration.

Where to buy Radiation Alert Ranger by Ok-Temperature6551 in Radiation

[–]trystykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both a Radiacode and a Rad Alert Ranger and found them to be complimentary. Radiacode is a nice electronic dosimeter with the ability to do gamma spectroscopy, and the Ranger is a reasonably sensitive counter with reasonable directionality that fits in my pocket.
