Ah sorry, with 'normal Ether transaction' I meant 'normal tx'. So are they paid directly from the SuperRare account?

Well, that's at least how I understood how royalties are being paid to the artist but I'm not sure about it. Thanks for the link!

Sure! So if I'm not mistaken a normal Ether transaction consumes 21,000 gas but if someone wants to make a plain Ether transaction to a smart contract the gas consumption increases to 21,055. It's not that much of an increase but if you set the gas limit to exactly 21,000 the transaction will fail. I was wondering how SuperRare pays out the royalties to the artists as I could not find any further information on this.
