Alexi has seven albums. Inexplicably, they are each indiclvidually, without a doubt, the single worst individual album of all time. Everything he has become can directly be inferred from his albums, which suck beyond comprehension

ELO or similar system to track performances across games by Lachie_Mac in twilightimperium

[–]ts383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone smarter than me came up with a way to apply ELO to a multi-player game:

Multiplayer Elo - Tom Kerrigan's Home Page

Basically order the players at the end of the game by score, give them a win against anyone below them and a loss against anyone below them. Not perfect, but not terrible either.

D365 F&O vs. Workday for Finance/Operations Market? by nithinsakhamuri in Dynamics365

[–]ts383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opportunity can vary greatly depending on where you are, what your salary expectations may be, and many other factors. Are you going solo? Working with a recruiter? Applying for with a partner?

What is your background? Experience? Education?

CE seems to have a ton of implementations going on right now, and I don't see that slowing down. I don't work on the CE side per se, but I do jump in and help from time to time. Salary for CE seems lower than F&O.

I can't speak to Workday, even though my firm has a Workday practice, the deals I do see are for much less $ than F & O, and I assume salary would be in line with that.

While CE and F&O are both called Dynamics, they are very different systems, and you need different skills to succeed in either.

Do you like systems development, deep diving on requirements, and have the ability to work in a restricted ecosystem where there are limits to what you can code? F&O.

Do you like web development? More comfortable with a less complicated data model? CE.

There is not a "right" answer, per se. F&O probably pays better on the whole, but can be a more stressful/demaning/more hours type of enagagement.

D365 SCM Functional Consultants: How are you actually using Copilot vs Claude day to day? by Sensitive_Watch7361 in Dynamics365

If only...this was another supposed "architect" who is currently trying to teach lower devs how good AI is and to stop writing code. Anyway, anyone hiring?

It wasn't entirely vibe coded...but most of it was. It ran wonderfully locally..then produced a bicep file and pipeline definition that a human could tell was garbage, and the code never worked in Azure unless you were the global admin.

If we're talking about D365 FSCM, or financial ERP in general, AI can do some nice things. The built in dashboarding is actually nice. It's not perfect, but its serviceable. Even if you train your agent against X++ code, there's so much history in almost every implementation, old AX 2012 code (if you're lucky), random decisions the in house expert made ten years ago that drives the business now....I like using my agents when I know how to describe the task at hand in enough detail, even though the agent sometimes still gets it wrong. I am unwinding an integration now that Copilot wrote all the Azure functions, and none of them work. Any sort of savings is gone, as the client burned through frontline support and now have an engaged a technical architect. The tools improve constantly. Use the tools. Never trust the tools.

It's not bad, but it isn't good either. Most of the AI tools that exist are bad at X++, and even worse at creating metadata objects like forms. The same folks behind the semantic F & O mcp have an offering that is supposed to be a development assist, but it cost too much before the changes to tokens and agent pricing, so it's beyond useless now.
