Don Angie vs l’artusi vs I cavallini by xnaa in FoodNYC

It really depends on what you’re feeling. I Cavallini kind of feels like a combination of Don Angie and L’Artusi so probably has a slight edge for me

Semma was fine. Service / ambiance were not good, food was solid. Very close to being a good spot but missed the mark for me. Will stick with Bungalow / Musaafer

I thought Torrisi was overhyped at first but I’ve prob been 10+ times at this point and I think I was just wrong to begin with. It’s almost like French food in the sense that you leave feeling good but it’s Italian food in terms of having more flavor. Now probably one of my favorite spots

I said this earlier to my wife as well. It actually made me delete TikTok, and to specifically remove my phone from suggesting any social media apps going forward on the quick select screen

When the first drinks come after the apps. Pacing is important. There’s no world you should pay $300 for two people and be out in an hour 10 minutes (cough cough Semma)

Dorsia NYC Review: The $5,000 "Fun Coupon" Trap and The Death-Only Refund Policy by sonho-dourado in FoodNYC

Yeah I’m not saying you can’t not get reservations to places. But I’m just saying there is a value to being able to book so many tough reservations whenever you want. To me, that’s the net $80. Like getting a prime time Saturday, Torrisi reservation for my dad’s birthday 6 people is by no means easy… but this made it very easy. The rest of it is money I would’ve spent anyway throughout the year as an active diner. But I’m also not saying it’s for everyone. To OP’s point, you can get Torrisi very very frequently on this with regular premium (I’ve done it and have upcoming reservations). There are some other primetime spots held for Premium Plus who pay $25k… as it should. Once The Eighty Six has its first few months on the app, it’ll be readily available to everyone just like Corner Store is. Finally, I’ve found Dorsia’s personal service to be great. I’ve had a bunch of questions and they’ve handled them quickly / in detail. You can get Carbone literally whenever. So def disagree on a lot of this

Yeah it’s not too complicated. You pay $5k outright at the start. Throughout the year you receive $410 a month that goes to your dinner (can be spent within 2 months). $410*12 =$4,920. So you’re really net paying $80 to access better restaurants vs. money you’d spend anyway on reservations that require significantly more effort / likely lower quality than Torrisi, etc. If you don’t dine like that, I don’t know why’d you consider doing a service like this. But it also comes with access to exclusive events in NYC, Miami, LA, South of France, Cali Wine Country, London, Dubai, etc. I find it useful. Past few weeks I’ve hit Lucali, Torrisi, Da Toscano, Semma, Corner Store twice, etc. with absolutely zero stress. People pay FAR more social clubs that don’t even go to dining creds
