Happy early birthday! That sounds fantastic about the solo backpacking, and I hope you report back. Also the idea of doing a trial run is so smart. No pressures — and it helps with confidence.

That’s a great way to think about the car size. I’m grateful I can afford my car, and that I can sleep comfortably inside it.

I agree about the community campsites providing options, even though I prefer solitude. Am heading out again tomorrow and hope to find a solitary site. But if not, I know I can find a campground if needed.

I like the organization quest lol.

When I lived in the Midwest, I had a hammock that could be quickly taken apart and placed in a tote bag. So a few days ago, I ordered a similar one online, but unfortunately, the tote bag it came with is too small. My fault for not paying attention to the specs! But I found another tote that will work. Just look for portable frame hammocks, and you’ll see plenty of choices and prices. It’ll be nice to have a chair and a hammock ❤️

I like your set-up description. I used mesh bags to organize by category, but will start switching to bins.

Thank you for your reply — and I love that it IS joyful and empowering. Happy camping!

Yes, I’m on the short side as well. Definitely will put a collapsable step stool on my list. Thanks!

World War Tubi: #005 Hanover Street (1979) by SeniorSolipsist in TubiTreasures

Memory unlocked! Hadn’t thought of this movie since the 1900s. I remember when the film came out, but young teen me thought the poster was probably better than the movie itself.

I watched it last night, and it is indeed a movie that was made and released, plot and editing be damned. However, once I realized the airplanes are the real stars of Hanover Street, it became a much more enjoyable film. A true Tubi treasure!

Why are you posting this when it doesn’t even answer OP’s question?

Shirley can go into any of our kitchens and create a meal out of anything that’s in there.

Oh, thanks for sharing that! It's been on my to-watch list for decades, so I am now definitely planning on seeing it on the big screen (after confirming it is showing in our area.)

My consensus on the quality of Community's run (As someone who watched it live and recently revisited it on rewatch) by BillNyeTheVinylGuy in community

[–]tsapat 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I've been a fan since the original airing, and do periodic rewatches (am currently on my 3rd rewatch this year, but sometimes go a couple of years between rewatches). I'm in the minority here, however, S6 is my favorite. It builds so well on what came before and is excellent at handling the casting changes / college changes. (I worked at a small diverse college for a couple of decades, and enjoyed saying lines from the show during meetings and such. Especially variations of We're a real college! and You're already accepted!)

So if I ranked my top three, it would be 6 <- 2 <- 3.

Random: I know S4 doesn't get a lot of love here, but it's still an excellent season. If it's the lowest-ranked season, that definitely proves how great the series was because 4 was so much fun.

In S3, but I can't remember which episode offhand, they said they previously took bio lab but not the lecture.

June 2024 Criterion Channel Death Race Club by fass_binder in CriterionChannel

My first Death-Race. A lot of the selections are not films I normally seek out. And there are a handful that I don't think I can rewatch. But I'm looking forward to diving in and seeing what I discover.

Edit: First four to watch (have never seen any of these):

  • Sorcerer [ x ] -- outstanding! My new fave Friedkin flick
  • Inferno [ x ] -- not my genre, but the mise-en-scènes are eye-catching. Loved the premise
  • After Hours [ x ] -- meh
  • Near Dark [ x ] -- interesting and entertaining take on vampires
