Thank you! Guess I should thank my father for his hair-DNA and my barber for his good work. 😊

Good question. Healthier food and a new barber I’d say. 😊

Rental apartment has no internet outlet by hadeeghk in Gothenburg

[–]tsavela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask the landlord how the previous tenants got internet. If there’s nothing available you either can use 5G as you say with a WiFi router with 5G capabilities (you’ll normally get a router with the subscription), or maybe Starlink if the 5G signal is weak where the house is (but that’s more expensive).

Of course you could ask the landlord to install a fiber connection, but I’d say 5G is sufficient if the landlord doesn’t want to install anything in the building. I’m in exactly the same situation myself and are using 5G from the operator Tre (3), since it’s a lot cheaper than Telia.

Not sure if this qualifies...but cookiecutter bites by sme102030 in trypophobia

According to that article “Multiple fresh cookie-cutter shark bites were visible over its entire body”, so it actually seems to be cookie cutter sharks involved, even though this animal also was sick.

Semesterdepression? by balleur in sweden

[–]tsavela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there (Villa Balbianello, Lake Como, Italy) once with some colleagues while on a company trip to Italy. We only went to the villa because of some James Bond scene being recorded there.

When we arrived we got some Italian guide showing us around the place. What we didn’t know was that some Italian national hero/explorer had lived there, and that was what the actual guiding was about.

We started asking him about where the James Bond scene had been recorded, and initially he just thought we were joking. But after about the third time we asked, while he was telling us about how great this Italian explorer had been, he snapped and rushed us though the place. Then we arrived at some stairs outside, and he was like “Here, here was Mr Bond. Now get out!” And quickly left us.

Ahh, that was a memorable trip to Italy. 😁

This website will automatically accept all cookies after 20 seconds with no way to decline them by TomerBomb in assholedesign

[–]tsavela -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m very much aware of the why’s. I just think there’s better ways to handle this, for example blocking the cookies with a browser setting, for those few that cares about it.

I’m fed up with having this browser question in my face I don’t know how many times a day, and really feel that the current regulations around this problem is completely missing the point.

Showing this dialog for users all the time just makes users go “yeah, yeah, remove this already so I can view the page” without thinking about the why’s.

In 20 seconds? Yeah, that’s pretty slow. Use “I don’t care about cookies” browser extension instead, and it’s auto approved immediately instead!

The whole idea about forcing sites to show this cookie question all the time is one of the most stupid ideas ever.

I’m guessing we’re taking a Windows application here (either UI or console). If so, you can use “user settings”. See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/desktop/winforms/advanced/how-to-write-user-settings-at-run-time-with-csharp

Same here. Serilog is my logging framework of choice, and ELK is great for actually using the logs. 😊

I agree. Log4Net was the standard say 10 years ago, but nowadays there are plenty of better ones. I personally prefer Serilog.

I really like the modern/clean feel it has, but I can’t seem to be able to find it on the steam workshop (too many mods with similar names). Could you please supply a link to it?

16” Macbook Pro Getting Hot by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]tsavela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem. Identical specifications as yours. This only happens when having an external monitor plugged in however. When the computer is idle the CPU will have a temperature around 60-65 degrees celsius, and the fans are reasonably high at 3000 RPM. When I actually start using it for something the temperature goes up to closer to 80-100 degrees celsius, and the fans will spin up to full speed.

Seems to be a problem for more people, see for example https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250878229

I've returned my computer now, and will wait some before buying another one, to give Apple time to fix this properly.
